It's a full-on remake of my first ever finished game project from just over a year ago(That's how ashamed of it I was after I made it)!

Downloadable Game was an interactive piece of software in which the player talked to strangers and collected enough pieces of bacon to open some doors. It took a good deal of inspiration from the 'egg-like' genre, 'popular'ised by Fantastic Game from 2012. Most games of this nature involved exploring haphazardly put together 3D environments populated largely by obscure pop-culture references and nonsensical memes, while looking for a certain food item scattered throughout. DG's mission statement was to translate this philosophy to the RPG Maker 2003 engine while also making it easier to digest for regular people. Whether or not it succeeded, well, like 4 people played it so I guess not.

The original Downloadable Game featured:

-A jump button

-Four areas full of stupid gags

-Cheap-looking pixel art and a middling soundtrack

-50 pieces of bacon

-A moth

-A really unnecessary twist ending I wrote in haste while half-asleep

ReDownloadable Game features:

-The same jump button

-Four areas still full of stupid gags, some new, some old

-(Almost) Completely hand-drawn visuals and a sort-of better soundtrack

-45 pieces of bacon (a downgrade, I know)

-15 useless collectible cards obtained through completing timed obstacle courses and doing some unusual things

-A moth you can hug on command

-A different unnecessary twist ending that wastes less of your time

This is probably going to be the last independent project I really commit myself to for... the rest of time, or at least a few months, or something. I started working on it at the beginning of the year and made it a goal to have it out by the end, and that took a lot of motivation that I didn't necessarily have, resulting in a very on-and-off sort of development process. Even with that said though, I might make an update or two to this game down the line if there are enough ideas/bugs to warrant one or - heaven forbid - there's demand for more, but right now I'm running on fumes. Really hope people enjoy

hi i have literally made an account just so i can say that this is one of the most charming rpgmaker games ive ever played????? very inspiring too
as someone with a mothsona myself i can also confirm lamp is the best character of all time (unbiased) ((lying))
as of writing this i still havent gotten the other ending but i will do my damndest to find it probably
is there anywhere else one could check out your stuff if possible?

edit: THERES A REVIEW SECTION ON THIS WEBSITE????????
1. First of all thank you so much, what!? Insane to hear a silly thing I whipped up in a year with absolute zero gamedev experience or coding knowledge apparently got to inspire somebody

2. There are no words to describe how happy I am that someone else enjoys Lamp as much as I do (although I'm changing things about my characters all the time so this depiction of her is actually kind of outdated now, whoops)

3. Regarding the ending my memory's not so good but I'm sure I only made the one (would've done more but the back half of the game was admittedly pretty rushed), if you're going off of the 'different ending' mentioned in the description that just means I swapped out the one from the original project for the one in this

4. If you're interested to see what other nonsense I get up to I'm fairly active on soundcloud and youtube and I also have an itch.io account where you'll mostly just find the same stuff I've published on rmn for now, thanks for asking!
