Still working on player charsets. I've decided not to have every character's appearance randomized in the game, but I still want there to be a variety of options for the player. It's actually important to the story that the player feels like they've personalized their appearance a little. The two uniform options available in the current alpha are based on sprites from "KNight Blade Howling of Kerberos," the demo game that ships with RMXP. I plan to make one more based on a uniform option from Mass Effect 2, and Dr. Mercer's outfit from Dead Space. I wrote a program in RGSS that uses a template to automatically create multiple copies of each charset with each of the different character faces on it, so someone with a reasonable work ethic could potentially have them all done in 2 days. But for me it will probably take a week.
