Triax, a star light-years away from Earth, is one of many solar systems in the universe that houses life. Triax has three planets - Laidan, the closest and most populous. Argos, the second and rockiest.. and Frigis, the third and coldest of the planets. Only Laidan currently supports life. In the Triax system, one thing exists due to the star's properties that doesn't exist in our own solar system: magic. With the magic comes good and evil intentions, and some of these intentions can cause catastrophic events, such as the dimensional void caused by an ill-fated sorcerer in one of the Laidan towns...

Triax is the first full game I ever made with RPG Maker (way back in 2002), and even arguably my best to this date. Below are some of the features of the game:

- Collectible gemstones, which are also used as an item to increase character stats. Collect enough of them and you get rewards from the people inside the gemstone house in Capturnia.

- Lots of custom shops in the world's "capital," including weapon customizing and alchemy used to make special equipment or items.

- Plenty of optional off-shoots to find ultimate equipment & gemstones. This includes the typical searching/exploring, winning certain mini-games or visiting certain areas, and even a trading market.

- Almost every town has a playable mini-game.

I'm not sure exactly how long the game is in terms of hours but on the RM2K engine you'll likely have your players no lower than level 40 by game's end, and more likely they'll be well into the 40s.

I remember this game from wayyyyyyy back in the day, and those goblins in the cave that always killed my whole party :(
Yeah, it's been a good 7-8 years since I unleashed this game onto the public, lol. Thankfully though I did ramp down some of the difficulty, but the notorious six-enemy parties of vampiric flies are still present.
I was using the GFAQs forums back when this game was first being made. Glad to see it up here for download. :)
Ahh, good ol' GameFAQs.. I still go there, though I don't post a whole lot. I haven't even been onto this account here in like 8-9 months until now. I actually have a save file of this game going right now. ^_^
Sweet! I really do hope you remake it for VX.
I'm in the North Fradan woods and I cant go across any of the bridges. Why?
Haha, I forgot I made those previous posts.

I just went out of my way to get the RM2K RTP hooked up again just to play this. It's amazing how much RPGMaker has evolved since this game was made. I do remember this game being harder back then, and I'm glad it was adjusted to be more reasonable. I just made it past the ropes and to the big city that the warrior's from. That may be farther than I got back in the day--my memory's failing me. But wow, what a blast from the past.
Maybe it's on me for playing an obscure game that was released so long ago, but I appear to be at a game breaking bug. I'm past the part in which Assgorge (a charming name!) steals your girlfriend, and you end up back at the castle town to plan your next move. From what I gather, you're supposed to go through the northern forest (the townsfolk suggest they saw a flying creature headed north), but when I try to pass through the forest bridges, the game won't let me step into those tiles. There's a gemstone that I've attempted to get, and the game won't let me climb down the rope to get it, as well.

From what I gather, people have beaten this game before, so I wonder why I'm getting these errors. I thought it may have been an RTP issue, but I'm able to climb other ropes, so I'm not sold on that. Maybe it's because the third party member got mad at me and left the group earlier in the game, and there's something programmatically tied to that? Hmmm...
I find this game...um...needs a couple changes. This happens a lot when I experience games that I find could use some help. I'm just kinda having a hard time taking it seriously when a bosses name is Assgorge and Pharthead. 0_0 What about Windhead and Ashegorge? Windhead you know, passing the wind as they say. Ashegorge sounds kinda middle earth like.
Some of the writing is kinda weird. And questionable. Like camman. Though when I change games, don't worry, I make a copy for me. And instead of Mental Pow as a terminology how about Mind Force abbreviated M.FOR? I've been changing things to make things sound better, and made enemy names pun like - Vampiric Fly into Flypyre, Scorpion, into Scorpiox, and kinda stuff like that. Like an enemy named Trio is...eh. How about Triumvirimp? Names that are like "I shoulda thoughta that one!" Something like that. That battle music needs some changing RPG maker's battle music is ear melting. Not good. Egh. I can't stand it. I also found some very kickass graphics for monsters, etc via VIRPG Material Storage - this site is SICK seriously. I also updated some of the "FF4" monster sprites to PSP level, and some of the placement of the monsters in the troops just needed to be neater. They seem placed around haphazardly. Let's try to get this rating up a bit by upping some of the game. I changed some of the item names and wording of things too, like a Green Potion to an Emerald Potion, a Red Potion to a Crimson Potion, a Blue Potion to an Azures Potion, and that sort of thing. Made weapons have their own unique battle animations + sound like earth and sword sounds for Obsidian materials. I dunno though. Just needs...more???
