"Everyone has to take a leap of faith sometime. But it is on you to decide from what height."
- Vertalos

-Overview-

Carpe Diem: Episode One is the first episode in a planned trilogy of games telling the story of Skylar and his journey of self discovery, friendship, destiny and growing up. It's a story of a hero held up by the people around him and his internal struggles to accept something more than an average life. Episode One sets the stage for a vast narrative with a deep cast of characters that make up the lore of the world.

Episode One, titled 'The Living Flame' will cover 12 chapters with a total of 25-30 hours of gameplay. If you've played many classic JRPG's, you can expect much of the same in terms of gameplay, however there are a few simple systems in it to help it feel a little more fresh.

What others have said...

Overall, it's a good game for those who like cutscenes and probably a plague to those who prefer non-stop action. You have been warned and recommended.

Good game. I really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work!

I'm anxiously awaiting to play more and this one of the better Rpgmaker games out there and definitely one of the best I've played from Charas.

Looking for testers

Hello everyone,

Been quite a while, I'm looking for people who have time to beta test for bugs, glitches and grammatical errors. If anyone has time is appreciate the help. I also need some recommendations for where I can host the game file to send out.

Thanks to anyone who is available!

Lol nooo episode 1 is 12 chapters long. And it's not done yet you're playing pretty much everything I've made so far.

As for the lamp, you gave it to the guy and in return you gave you that magic ball. Look for someone who needs it....possibly the person with the letter? lol :P

Once you trade for the ball, is it supposed to be in your inventory?

Also, 12 chapters for the game, that's quite ambitious of you. Not to mention 3 games total.

I'll try to put another chunk in the demo tonight.
edchuy: It doesn't go in your inventory but you have it. And I know it really is ambitious, but you gotta reach for the stars right? haha

Deckiller: Enjoy it! :)

Thanks for your reply. I tried to the person who is supposed to write the letter, have tried searching all over his house and still nothing ... I must be missing something obvious. Also, I tried talking to everybody in town and tried searching all over town just in case. I hope it doesn't mean there's a bug ...

I am glad you are trying to be ambitious. Just make sure to take the time you need to make it right. No rush here!
Lol ok well I wanted to avoid just telling you the answer lol but try and pressing enter on the letter itself. That should start up a convo that'll let you take it.

And thank you! I'm definitely pacing myself and making sure the content is good and not just rushed out :) Looking forward to your review :D

Yeah, I figured that was the way to get. However, I still can't. In the house of who is supposed to write the letter, there is a letter on a table. The side where you would normally be able to get it from can't be accessed because there is a chair in front of it. And from the other side, it's too far away!

I finished my replay of your demo. I don't know exactly when I would post the review, since there's a couple other that I want to write before this one. But I have plenty of notes, this time.
Oh well great! Whenever you get to writing it is fine! I'm still looking forward to it :)
I'll check it out and if it's up to snuff, I'll review it for ya... I will say one thing though. DITCH THAT DOWNLOAD SERVICE! I had to try 10 times to download your game and kept getting POP UPS OF DOOM! I'd suggest Megaupload, but really, anything is better than the one your currently using.
I'll also review this once I get my internet back up at home.
@WeasleX: Sorry about the site, I didn't know it was so bad. :P But I look forward to your possible review!

@Rowan: Thanks I can't wait!

Review has been submitted. I gave the game a 2.5/5, which is quite good for a first demo/first attempt. I gave the story a 3/5, presentation 4/5, and gameplay 1.5/5.
Well, I'm in Kaelor right now... and I have no idea what to do. I've spoken to every single NPC there, Ringo won't let me back inside his home, I can't find Haru or Ledron. I've gone back and forth from the Kaelor Cave and the Flooded Cave. WHAT DO I DO?! D;
Lol, try and look for some sort of clue....somewhereeeeee. I'll give you a hint, it isn't in any building. But it is in Kaelor.

Damn, I'm still having trouble... I even tried talking to the flowers and rocks )=
EDIT: WOOH! I FOUND IT AT THE ABNORMAL ROCK. O:<
Lol hoorah! Enjoy the rest of the game :)

Only problem with this game, is the automatic dialouge, made me lose some of it, when I was distracted after doing a a important errand, and had to go. Gah. Thanks. :p But I'm convinced, if I have enough time to get though this game without being interrupted at the wrong time.
Just make sure you're focused on the game while playing :P Hope you're enjoying it!
