Besides the chairs being as high as the tables and missing wall chips at what looks like the entrance to the right, this looks nice.

When you will see the mess hall from outside, you will see that, from south as in this picture, are windows and alot of them plus as you know fire emits light, so yes its overlightened.

I like it. And if you have changed it via the advice given here, it must now look pretty polished.

My only comment is that in the text the guys name Zach isn't capitalised...
