Ice Queen Boss Draft

Here's a short video of one of the game's bosses. It shows the importance of the Disruptor class, as well as the need to change classes constantly. The final version of this boss will have a time limit - that's why it's so important to prevent the souls from buffing the Queen :D

So I'll be, ahem, releasing this for Release Something 11. I have 9ish hours of devtime left...it's doable. I have an idea of where to take the story, so the only thing halting progress is simply my worry that the battles will suck...

Valedictory Demo Posted

I decided to slap together a demo just to show where I'm going with this project. Feedback would be greatly appreciated, especially since nobody tested this but me.

I'm trying to make the battles much more strategic, requiring thought on who to target first. I'm not sure if I succeeded, or if I went too far!

Definitely let me know what you think so I can invest the last 9.5 hours wisely.

Status

I definitely won't have this rolled out in two days. I just have too much going on. If Kentona extends the game drive by a week, I -may- have a shot at finishing by next Saturday. I still have 9+ hours to spend on this game (based on my 20-hour "budget"). I just have too much going on in real life!

Encephalon trilogy shortened to duology

This will be it, at least for the foreseeable future. Just a duology of short RPGs. I'd be more than happy to hand off the setting so someone else, if they are interested in a more complete RPG Maker game.

As for finishing this game...probably after I'm done with Chapter 1 of the RMN Chain Game. I only have about 10 more hours to work on this game anyway, so I can probably bang it out between college classes. I do need to get this off my plate, though.

Haven't forgotten about this

Only a week and a half left of school. I'll try to get it done for Christmas. Not that such a feat would be very hard; I only have like 11 and a half hours left to spend on it anyway.

8 hours in: 2k3 is a piece of garbage

Seriously. Bravery and Faith are great conditions, as they double attack and intelligence respectively. However, these stats don't go back to normal for the enemy, making a dispel skill pretty much useless! What's worse is that abilities that cut defense in half do NOTHING; you have to use manual stat decreases, it seems. And even then, there's invisible stat thresholds that determine when the debuffs actually work.

As you can tell, the mapping and overall layout is done, and I'm deep into balancing and strategy now.

I'm up to Day 5, hour 5.

4 and a half hours down, give or take. 60 percent of the mapping is finished, as is about 10 percent of the database. Still got a ways to go!

Still, I'll release it after 20 hours of development time. It's more time than I gave to the first one, so that should be a good thing!
