Recovering Infernal Sword

Hey folks! After I posted Infernal Sword to rpgmaker.net, things were pretty chilly for a while here afterward and a few initial reactions were rather mute. So I didn't bother coming back to this site for a while. I continued working on Infernal Sword, but then switched over to my other game Dragonlands and screwed around with that for a few years.

Eventually I decided Dragonlands had more work and required more spare time than I have available, and so I decided to shore up the project and end it early, release it as a demo, in the hopes that people would enjoy. I remembered posting Infernal Swords to this site and decided to come here and see if I could submit Dragonlands. Thanks to rmn it's now available here: http://rpgmaker.net/games/2463/ While submitting it, I noticed that Infernal Swords has had quite a few comments over the years, and many of those occurring just recently. I feel bad now for not updating this project for so long, but hopefully you understand how limited my spare time is: I can either work and create games, or update my rmn page. ;)

Seeing the interest in Infernal Swords, I've decided to take another look at the project and see if something can be made of it. Perhaps a demo, just like Dragonlands. Currently, the project is in some state of disrepair: graphics have gone missing due to hard drive crashes and having to move data from one location to another. I had imported all the graphics in the .xyz format, not knowing that .xyz files don't copy correctly sometimes in Windows. Nevertheless, I'm going to try to figure out what's missing, replace it, finish up Dragonlands as a demo, and post it here. So I'm changing the project status from hiatus to in-development once again!

Systems Finalized

Party creation system: finalized. Players can now choose from 18 playable characters to create a party of four at the outset of the game.

Custom airship: When ridining in the airship, the player can press SHIFT to enter the airship. Onboard, the player can speak to various crew members and party members to obtain clues and quest reminders.

Slot machine mini-game: Certain towns have pubs where slot machines are located. The further along the game the player gets, the higher the game price. For instance, the first slot machine is 5 gold, the second is 10, the third is 20, etc. Each time the player pulls the lever, three symbols appear. By matching three hearts, three spades, three clubs, three diamonds, the player doubles their money. By matching three 7's, the player wins the jackpot! (The prize money is different depending on which slot is played, and it's a secret!)

Bone Collector: After defeating the boss in a certain dungeon, the party can return and speak to a monster in a certain area to play Bone Collector. Bone Collector functions like Pac-Man, except the player collects bones as opposed to dots. The ghosts are quite aggressive, and the AI makes them seem quite lifelike.

Thanks for everyone's comments. More updates soon!
