CMS's are good and all, but make sure they look good too. It looks like your text and background are blended well, but I'd like to see some more variation in style, possibly even more pictures rather than sprites.

Corfaisus is right, I'm attempting to imitate the startup menu. This is the first thing you see when the game starts, hence the intentional simplicity.
