Helpful things:

--> Medium build girl, the .psd that was used to create the built-in characters, is available with layer names in English.

--> Kudos to SparkleFox for finding us a male tachie generator, authored by "彩 雅介" (Aya Mayabaikai?)! This one is put together as a program, but has PSD files with layer-names in Japanese. No "fan-translation" available at this time.

--> You can use any of these images for making new custom characters.

--> Notepad++ with syntax highlighting for Heartache 101 can be a big help with story creation. To set it up, go to the View menu and set User Defined Language to HeartAche. Then close View, go to the Language menu and select HeartAche. (If you already have Notepad++, here's userDefineLang.xml by itself)

--> Mr. Help File has, regrettably, forgotten to mention certain locations! They are as follows:
Beach (sunset), Grounds (sunset), Roof (sunset), Bedroom (Morning), Downtown, Studio Room.
Note that these locations must be specified via a PLACE command. To the best of my (ie: Marrend's) knowledge, they cannot be obtained via the generic "School" or "City" code.

I wanted to do a character with stocking before, but I couldn't make them look any good. How did you do the ones for Eliza?

I've painted them with a soft and large brush, copied and repainted the couture layer, and to finish, I've made a black and white copy of the skirt's shadow and set it to "multiply". ^^
PS. Transparency and "Levels command" helps a lot when the shadows are to dark or too light. :3

I use Paint Tool SAI to make the lines and base color and Photoshop CS4 to shading and highlights, as both have their ups and downs.
The PTS, have the awesome "line-work layer" feature, which is enables anchor points to the pen tool, that makes copy/adjust lines a breeze. It's a great help if you're going to make a CG after a draw, a wallpaper or anything else. But, the PTS brushes have some quirky color blending that I can't really understand or turn off, guess that pro's only stuff. :p

The CS4 have the option "keep layer transparency" tool which I find very useful when changing colors or shading hair tips, and many layer options like Multiply, overlay, linear burn... Which were life savers more times that I could count.
I don't know if it counts as I can't use it better than the mouse, but I have a Wacom Bamboo Drawing tablet too, it makes paint funnier enhancing endurance x3

Ps. I'm afraid that we're discussing artistic content on the technical tab for awhile, maybe it's better we continue this discussion on Art tab before Dozen come back and kill one of us.

Also, I have a few questions. Do you think it would be possible for someone to update the finished content page? A lot of the finished ones haven't been added such as Yoko or Seira, plus a few others I've seen and really want to play but can't find. Also, I've noticed a lot of people, specifically Kevincalanor and BDFalcon, have made custom pieces. Is there any chance any of them could be downloaded and added to the meduim girl build file? Thanks very much

Gimp... Gimp, I've used it the first time I tried mine luck with an wallpaper.
It's very powerful, but I didn't got along with some features and the interface :p
I use a Trial version of PaintTool SAI, I dunno which evil plans it have for the future but for now it just say "9 trial day" at the top right. I recommend you give a try at it ^^

Yoko and Seira? :o
I didn't knew that we had more finished routes around, I'll need to make another fly by trough the pages to find them :3
On a more replysh side, I guess that only FlowerThief himself can update the page. His last visit was day 20th, so he should be back soon ^^

About the custom parts, I'm currently working in one last piece before releasing a zip with them. It should be available this sunday ^^

Late Edit to prevent Double Posting: The progress on the Twintails is going poorly, and it's also delaying a lot the CG, so I'll have to put it on hold and end mine route first.
How it can and probably will take some time, here it is the First version of the Custom parts package.

The content of this release are:
- One custom mouth;
- Eliza's Long SideBangs;
- IA and Miku Front bangs (with shadows);
- UnderRim Glasses;
- Both skirts with Stockings.

Next projects are the Miku twintails (from Innocence module), a new Headband and maybe a new pose or clothing.
I still can't conform that I've lost the Kazumi's "Say that again!" pose that I had done last year. :(

Ps. Anyone by change have the files of Nekochi's custom clothes (used by Junko)?

Both Yoko and Seira have the "in progress" notation with my notes. Thus, I wouldn't feel comfortable setting them on the Finished Content page. Dozen, dewelar, or flowertheif can alter the page, should they think I'm being silly. Or, triad2/Noone42 posts Yoko and/or Seira in the Finished Content thread.

As for the "other characters" you mention, could you be more specific? There are a mess-ton of characters floating around!

While I largely suspect that Mute already answered it via PM, I do have a response to this post:

It largely depends on how the choices were coded in the first place. If each BRANCH activated a different switch (In other words: they JUMPed to a STORY that only had a CONDITION = {itself} DONE), you can make the check based on which STORY it JUMPed to. Otherwise, there is no way to do a CONDITION = 1 BRANCH A DONE. Or whatever the syntax would be.

To make a check against another story, that would be "CONDITION = Story_Id DONE in storyfile.txt". Mr Help File is a bit better at explaining this than I. He's pretty helpful like that!

That was the same answer Igot from Mute.
So Ifigured out Iwill use the JUMP and add the importent info in the new story.
When Itried thinking about it while doing it Isaw it get along well with my original use for it. And there is no way it will make trouble from the way it was written on the help file.
Ijust never figured before the JUMP can be used like that when adding impossible condtion to the story it relate to.

What city is the story take place at?
You see Iam trying to make abackround story for the shrine and at the same time it will have alot to do with my second character the Shrine Maiden but if Idont know what city it is Icant use adeity related to it...
On the other hand if no city name have been set then Ican use any deity Iwish for and maybe even create afew backround stories for the shrine. Ican tell its ashinto shrine but not more then that from the picture.
Anyone can help with it?

In that case Iwill use any deity Iwant(Besides how many people know the location of each shinto shrine and the deity worshipped there? probably not too many.)

Saying that, I have a few misgivings about this "Ertad" block, to be honest. Twelve characters when the most we've seen from one author is eight? I dunno. I guess we'll see. There's also the adage "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." I don't know that it's "broken" per say, but there is a chance that it isn't!
