The information below is for testers, but anyone with bug reports, suggestions, feature requests, etc is of course welcome to post here.

Thanks for offering to help test the game. I hope you enjoy playing it despite it's imperfect state! I'm eager to hear feedback and criticism on pretty much every aspect of the game, but especially the following:

1. Gameplay
I think this is the most important thing, because if the core gameplay isn't fun who will care that the characters can be customized? Testers, please play the game and tell me honestly what you think. What aspects are fun and what aspects could be more fun? How is the difficulty? What things would you do to improve it? Of course please report any bugs you encounter.

2. Customization
Please mess around with the customization features; there's bound to be plenty of bugs and issues I haven't considered. You don't need to create content you would ever share with others. Just play around and see if you can do the things you're supposed to be able to do. Try creating a character or two and writing a little bit of story for her. Again, what you write doesn't have to be anything serious, but see if things really work.

3. Story & writing
Please give me constructive criticism on the story and the writing for the built-in characters. What do you think of the characters? If there are bits that you think should be rewritten for any reason, please don't hesitate to tell me. I realize some of the story (including the premise) may be corny, so maybe you have suggestions on how it could be better? Of course also report any bad spelling or typos or anything else that's off.

4. Documentation
Is the help file which explains how to do all the customization stuff easy to read and easy to understand? Please tell me if any parts aren't clear. I want the customization process to be easy and fun as much as possible.

5. Any other suggestions you have!
Don't hold back. If you have something to say which could help me improve the game I want to hear it.

Well it seems that nobody yet has gotten a good ending (a non-generic ending). This tells me that it might be too difficult or maybe unfair?

A good ending requires:
1. The character is in a state of Love or Lovesick
2. You have completed her story route

Everyone seems to be doing well with the first requirement.
The second requirement is tricky because you have to make some correct choices along the way AND some of those choices require that you pass an attribute check. Attribute checks are in multiples of 10; either 20, 30, 40, or 50. (So if you get an attribute up to 50, you'll pass any checks involving it in story events)

I suppose the problem is that it's not clear what attribute checks are coming up for a given character. Also, with the longer stories, you might simply be running out of time to complete them.

For the next release I'm going to make it a little easier to pass attribute checks by making it easier to raise attributes. I might also add a means of getting in-game hints for characters.

I didn't intend to put out a new release so soon, but there really have been a sleugh of bug reports and changes in the last two days. Testers, please grab the new release (v0.4).

I should have mentioned this earlier but if you encounter a serious bug I'd be greatly appreciative if you can send me a save file prior to the bug's occurrence. The game autosaves each day during the status screen where you can spend orbs so you can use that file. There are a few bugs that have been reported now which I've not able to reproduce and seeing the save file could help me out a ton.

I can see myself tweaking this game and adding new features for awhile to come, or for as long as people are interested in it, but I'll stop calling it a beta when we get to the point where any new releases will not render saves and records incompatible. There are still a few changes I'm considering that could possibly do that.

Here's some of the ideas for new features in consideration:
- "mental notes" about a character can be reviewed
- generic event for walking to school together
- support for BxB (only if there is interest)
- support for dual character endings
- Mouse support
- additional mini-games

The top two of those will likely make it into the game in the near future.

The new version, among other things, finally fixes the "script is hanging" error which people with slow computer sometimes encounter after the ending before or during the credits roll. Well, I think I fixed it. If anyone still gets that error at the end of the game, please let me know! I don't have any older computers around the house with which to test it on.

I was specifically talking about picking apart Masako rather than making custom content of one's own. Forgive me for not being clear on that.

As for me, the choice of who to make, and what kind of story to relay, was like, the moons were in alignment, or something. Either that, or my muse decided to wield the Bludgeon of Inspiration on me again. I suspect it was a combination of both!
the way i came up with my character was somthing like that...but rather then a blugeon of inspiration it was a sudden urge of patriotism, and being realy tired

also, sory i couldnt help you with fixing your character, im more noobish at this than anyone else i know
@dude797
Big thanks for that report. I had better put out a release tonight with a fix for that.

@Marrend
Ah, you're absolutely right. Story 2 has speaking lines for Masako, so that story can't show up until Masako has been introduced. I should have noticed that.

Another thing you could do if you want to keep Story 3 as the introduce story...make Masako appear as a vanilla NPC in Story 2 (since you don't have her actually appear on screen). In other words, you could change all the "ID = 10" commands in Story 2 to something like "ID = Female Student". Her speaking text color will be black, though.

The heartache counter...ah yes, that could be a problem if you use ENCOUNTERS OFF and PHONE UNKNOWN after her state is FRIENDLY or higher, as I see that you do. Hmm, what to do about that? I suppose I'll just make it so that the heartache counter doesn't apply when encounters are off and the phone number is unknown. I'll take care of this asap.

For Story 2, if the player chooses "(Soul) (Mind) I could really use the study" and is able to pass the rather unusual requirements, she makes an appearance on the screen, gives her name and her which class she's in (the closest thing to "age" as one gets in this game). To have her graphic appear, I'm going to have a "ID = 10" line somewhere in Story 2. Therefore, she needs to be introduced before then. Or, like you suggest, I allow Story 2 to be her "official" introduce event. Right?

*Edit:
The heartache counter...ah yes, that could be a problem...
My very first run-through, I was like, "Wait, Masako's Heartache is 1/1 at LOVESICK. Does that mean...?" Sure enough, by the end of the next day, I get a message saying that Masako is annoyed at me. I was like, "Wait, what? How can Masako be annoyed at me if she knows full well that I no longer have access to her? She's smarter than that! Besides, if she's really that lonely, wouldn't she call me?"

Also, getting the generic ending with her, after seeing the sequence where she talks about returning home was pretty nonsensical too. I was like, "Wait, when did Masako return!?" Of course, I'm talking about a generic ending, so this might be a moot point.

Okay, that's right. If her graphic is going to appear then disguising her as a vanilla NPC won't work.

The release I put up yesterday prevents the heartache counter from incrementing if phone number is unknown and encounters are off.

Hmm, that's true. But I'm not sure I should rewrite generic endings to accommodate one custom character.

Meh, don't sweat it. It's called a generic ending for a reason, right?
Hello flowerthief! This is simply a random post! Anyways! I have so much HOMEWORK!!!! I AM SO SAD!!!!!! I HATE going to a grammar school! KECHG is so rubbish! All they do is give you homework! NEVER!!!!!! I shudder to think what I will do when I get into GCSE's. Sigh.
Anyway. A bit of a bug, you know the robot, it is supposed to break at some pint right? If it isn't, then don't bothered reading the rest. Well, I used it for 5 weeks, before it was the 101th day, and it never once broke or anything. Does it break in fact?
Um... Also, sorry Im posting so much, I cannot be bothered to edit, I think you should keep the other downloads, like the first second, and third, I think you should keep them so we can download them. Thanks.
The robot breaking down occurs randomly. If it didn't break down for you then you had good luck :)

I'd rather not keep downloads of old versions of the beta around knowing what bugs are lurking in them.
I've been testing custom stories and music and characters and it works fine but i have noticed some things like if i put 'PLACE= Hall B ' when i do story test it doesn't work (it's like this for most places) or if i insert SHOW CENTRE it will be said by the player character...
you have to leave a space in between symbols when stating the place. So it would be
PLACE = Hall B

there is a space after 'PLACE' and another space after the '=' sign.

... and it's SHOW CENTER, not SHOW CENTRE, which is a common typo that happen to me alot as well.
Oh thanks ^^
It works perfectly now, you are awesome ^^
It shouldn't be necessary to leave a space in between symbols. Did that really not work for you? I can't reproduce the problem.

And if there are common alternate spellings of things, such as CENTRE, remind me of them and I'll consider making the game recognize them.

It is just me, or is this suggesting that the PC (meaning ID = 0) is saying "SHOW CENTRE". Because if he spelled it "SHOW CENTER", there should have been an error message. I think?
That's true. It could be that at the time he forgot to include the line listing profiles at the top of the file so that commands changing the active speaker weren't being recognized.
Typo hunting has revealed the following:

Game Stories 1
Story 5
molluscs should be mollusks

Story 11; Branch C
jerkwad should be jerk wad

Game Stories 2
Story 1
opporunity should be opportunity

Story 12
embarrased should be embarrassed

Game Stories 3
Story 20;Branch C
it's should be its ; paitent should be patient

Story 25;Branch D
exagerrating should be exaggerating

Story 40; Branch A
jewerly should be jewelry

Story 40; Branch C
unusally should be unusually

Story 53
chilren is missing the 'd'.
Thanks for those.
This was an amazing game, one of the best I've played all year, and I'll be definitely playing it again. Some of the grammar on the text was a bit off, but that's just a small detail, so its okay. The map was kind of confusing at first, though, but still fun. I was so sad when this game ended.

I'm creating a new character right now, over-all its not too hard.

I hope to play more games of yours! :)

@Romeoette: Custom content, huh? Take a peek at the custom character thread, if you need support, or see what other people have done!
