The Owl of the Vagabonds

The Owl of the Vagabonds was born in a boxcar. Its mother was an acorn. Its father was an ember. The owl of the Vagabonds watches over you - watches over us all! If you've ever kept a fire, there is the Owl, listening to your thoughts & dreams. To him, it is you singing. It is you greeting the coals' growing glow as if you was robin seeing sunrise. One could say that the Owl grants wishes - that he protects. This person would be right. The owl loves you - loves everybody. Even if you don't know what fire means. Even if your brain says 'campfire', 'marshmallow', 'barbecue' - he knows that your hearts says 'fire', 'people' - 'Fire Epic'. This is why he has sad eyes - because he cannot talk with you about the fire. He can only listen to your little soul crying.

When the moon comes up, the Owl of the Vagabonds opens its wings like a flower - a feathery white flower. It lives off the moonlight. It grows in the night! Feeding - until violet tears run down its face and its density bows the branch beneath its feet. And then . . .

It sings.

Do you hear it?

They say only the NightWorthy have keen enough senses to hear. Are you NightWorthy? Where have you been?

Come with me.

Update

I had taken a very long hiatus on the making of this game. I'd moved around the country a lot, focusing on other avenues and artistic endeavors. It has always been sort of a dream of mine to create my own game. I'd grown up playing Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, King's Quest, and the like. I've always enjoyed story driven games.

I also tried my hands at using GameMaker, but found it both beyond my scope and too time consuming. Rolling back towards RPGMaker was the best choice for me; it's simple interface and integration of art assets suited me better. It allows me to focus on story and the simple side to old school rpg creation.

Right now I'm still finding inspiration. I'm writing a script and outlining the story whilst creating characters, backgrounds, animations, etc. It's time consuming still, but more enjoyable being that I don't have to debug code and go through trial and error every five minutes.

I'm looking forward to any feedback I may receive and hoping it'll keep me driven towards completion. Hence my return to RMN, I'd almost forgotten about it. Thanks for checkin' it out, and hopefully we can all chat soon.
