Sacred Reviews: Twhylight

"Twhylight" was developed by Liberty using RPG Maker VX Ace for the RMN 5th Anniversary event where developers were tasked with creating a bad adaptation of a graphic novel, movie, music video, or novel into a game. Though why this particular project exists is anyone's guess since even Liberty isn't entirely sure why she chose to adapt "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer. Maybe she simply wanted to give the community a short reminder why Stephenie Meyer is an absolute hack of a writer. Maybe she was trying to earn some precious makerscore like I am by writing this review and submitting Let's Plays for this project. Maybe she just wanted to earn an achievement by partaking in the event. Maybe she was caught up in the spirit of the 5th anniversary and couldn't come up with a better idea.

Regardless what we got is only a complete project from a certain point of view as a certain Jedi would put it. For most people this game would feel woefully incomplete since Liberty only gave us an opening text crawl and two cut scenes with a short bit where you control that character so you can walk from the location where the first cut scene happens to the room containing the second cut scene. I suppose you could use that walk to fully explore the game's world, but considering it consists of a meager two maps there isn't that much to see. Though, I'll admit the school building is better designed than what we got in "Eternal Sorrow: The Game" since the classrooms aren't comprised of a bunch of desks for students, a teacher's desk, and a chalkboard.

As for the story this project covers Bella's first lunch at her new school as well as her first interaction with Edward where he ignores her and then leaves school because he isn't feeling well. Of course, the real reason is obvious when you learn he is a vampire since he can't control himself around blood and the students are about to take turns drawing blood from each other.

Which is something I never did when I was a student. Though maybe there are schools where this is a thing. After all, I've never run into anyone else who took apart an owl pellet in school either. And for the curious an owl pellet is created when a owl regurgitates the bits of a meal that it can't digest. In other words my fellow classmates and I took apart owl puke. And for the really curious I found an almost complete skeleton of a shrew inside the one I took apart with a classmate.

And while I suppose I've gotten a bit off topic. There really isn't that much to discuss here since the graphics are largely comprised of RTP assets as far as I'm aware. Albeit the game does use a non RTP song in the form of "The Lion Fell In Love With The Lamb" by Carter Burwell. Which I only found out about since youtube hit my Let's Play with a copyright claim over it. Thankfully or unthankfully the video can still be published, but the owner of the song is going to put ads on the video. As for if anyone else should take a look at this project. I'm pretty sure the answer is pretty obvious and that answer is no unless your planning on farming this game for some easy points by writing a review for it afterwards.

Yeah, I've been flipping through my list of one part Let's Plays to find stuff I played but never reviewed recently.

Though a few of those games are impossible to review since the games were apparently made unavailable by the developers at some point.
Hey, I ain't judging~
And I just realized while writing a review for ~Absence that TEETH decided to hide Entropy from the public.
