The starter pokemon didn't really need changing. As long as there's no rival you could let us start with like Pikachu, Shellder, or Gastly~ :3 (I like 1st gen pokemon..)

Also, thank you for liking my game? The only reason I am criticizing is because if everyone ends up making crappy games with this kit, than even more games will be looked down upon by elitists. the general RM Population.

If there's no rival(it's a pointless overused gimmick, imo) it wouldn't matter if they formed a triangle. It doesn't matter either way because starters always suck and get swapped out for better more cool looking pkmn within a few hours, in my experience.
Starter Pokemon should form a type triangle. Your starters are poorly chosen.
I'd say the biggest factor in deciding what pkmn should be starters is looking at the first section of the game and including at least 1 that will do well, do ok, and suck. That will make the decision actually matter, but you don't know why yet. After the first section you have a variety of types and it doesn't matter any more.
Don't worry there is a rival and new starter pokemon the rivals name is kaiden

Since you do in fact have one however, there needs to be a good triangular balance such as say Fighting, Psychic, and Dark~ :)

i would like a pokemon rpg that didnt start you in a town next to bird/critter pokemon, didnt start you with the same type starters, and didnt have the same story as "be the very best like no one ever was" etc. it's like you give people this program that can duplicate the games so well that they end up doing the same thing as the commercial games anyway. what's the point?
why not have the main character be a hobo or be a part of team rocket, something different that mixes the story a bit. Instead we gotta be the same character that's been used in every main pokemon game.
