3.1 update

Greetings.

Apparantly, as I was surfing the web one day, I just so happened to see a post about someone having trouble completing one of the later levels of the game, but the person never bothered to contact me directly to tell me, so that's really the only reason why it took so long for me to find out about this. Anyway, in level 7-2, it was impossible to collect all 3 stars from the level, ultimately meaning that the player couldn't access the final level. If the player grabbed the goal star, the second star wouldn't appear, and if the player grabbed the second star, the goal star wouldn't count towards the player's star total. So, this small update to the game fixes that problem - the second star has been repositioned to a room earlier. There are also a few other small changes that are noted within the Read-Me file.

There is a small patch file that includes the 7-2 fix as well as the other changes; you only need it if you already have the game downloaded on your system.

4-4 Bug fixed

Reuploaded the game due to a bug that was brought to my attention. The autoscrolling room in 4-4 wasn't working, so that has been fixed with this updated version of 2.4b.
That's pretty much it.

An update? For this game? Yep.

Greetings, all. I've been working on this game for some time now, fixing stuff here, changing stuff there, and the result is this update. Quite a vast number of changes since the last major version - there are even a few new levels (to replace old ones, of course). Also, some levels have been nerfed in difficulty while others have been buffed, a few levels have been moved around a bit, and so on and so forth.

I also updated most of the images in the Images section, so feel free to take a look at 'em.

So with that said, I'm really not planning to mess around with this game anymore unless game breaking bugs are reported (I really need to finish Wishmaster). As far as I'm concerned, this may as well be the final version. A full list of the changes can be found below in the spoiler. As usual, if there are questions/comments, feel free to ask.


FULL CHANGES for version 2.4.

VERSION CHANGES
- Updated the game so now it uses version 1.31 of SMBX.
- All World 8 Intro hub rooms have had their BGM changed.
- All x-8 levels got BGM changes to the levels themselves and to the intro hub rooms.
- Star requirement for level 8-1 down from 18 to 16.
- Star requirement for level 8-3 down from 57 to 55.
- Star requirement for level 8-4 up from 76 to 77.
- Star requirement for level 8-6 up from 115 to 118.
- Star requirement for level 8-7 up from 134 to 140.


WORLD 1
1-1: Added more coins to the level, other than that, no changes.
1-2: Removed most of the pits; removed a few enemies. Changed the BGM. Added more coins.
1-3: Added a P-switch to the area right after the checkpoint. Hitting this P-switch spawns coins. Also, added another bonus area and moved one of the flowers to this area.
1-4: No changes.
1-5: Now uses level 1-2's old BGM. Lowered the difficulty of the second half of the level.
1-6: Swapped places with level 1-7. Made Peach's section slightly easier to navigate.
1-7: Swapped places with level 1-6. Slight changes to the first above ground area and to the cave section.
1-8: Difficulty lowered overall. Also, more coins have been added in certain areas. No changes were made to the boss.

WORLD 2

2-1: No changes.
2-2: Removed some of the leaping cheep-cheeps from the second half of the level. Also, removed some of the other enemies.
2-3: Slight aesthetic changes, but other than that, no real changes.
2-4: Aesthetic changes.
2-5: Aesthetic and BGM changes. The level still plays the same, though.
2-6: The beach section no longer autoscrolls.
2-7: Removed the secret exit so it is now a one-exit level.
2-8: No changes.

WORLD 3

3-1: No changes.
3-2: Aesthetic & BGM changes. Replaced the huge pirahnas with even bigger pirahnas!
3-3: No changes.
3-4: No changes.
3-5: Changed the enemies to SMB1 enemies to match the aesthetics and background.
3-6: Aesthetic changes.
3-7: No changes.
3-8: Is now the old level 4-8. Difficulty down some, but this level can still be hard if you're not careful enough.

WORLD 4

4-1: Renamed to Prickly Pokeys. Removed some of the pokeys from the last area as well as a few of the koopas. Also, made the last area a bit easier to navigate.
4-2: Completely remade. The old 4-2 is now level 4-4.
4-3: Background changes.
4-4: Is now the old level 4-2 with aesthetic changes. Also now has a secret exit. The miniboss is also completely different now.
4-5: BGM changed.
4-6: The first area no longer autoscrolls.
4-7: The player now plays as Peach in the area after the checkpoint; difficulty increased slightly due to Peach mechanics. Also, added Yoshi to the level to make things a bit easier in the maze section. Oh, and BGM changes.
4-8: Is now the old level 3-8. The difficulty is still the same as before.


WORLD 5

5-1: BGM changed.
5-2: Swapped places with level 5-3. Difficulty increased slightly; nothing major, just added a few more enemies and stuff.
5-3: Swapped placed with level 5-2. BGM & aesthetic changes, as well. This level still plays the same, though.
5-4: No changes.
5-5: The level still plays the same, however, there is now a heavy snowstorm that takes place during the last part of the level. BGM changes, too.
5-6: BGM changes.
5-7: BGM changes.
5-8: Reworked the boss fight.


WORLD 6

6-1: No changes.
6-2: Is now the old level 6-6. Big aesthetic changes as well as BGM changes. The level still plays the same mostly, though. Difficulty increased slightly.
6-3: BGM changes.
6-4: No changes.
6-5: Is now the old level 6-2. No other changes.
6-6: Lowered difficulty slightly. Added more parabeetles for Peach to use.
6-7: Tile changes, mainly to the airship itself. Level still plays the same as before.
6-8: No changes.


WORLD 7

7-1: BGM change & some aesthetic changes.
7-2: No changes.
7-3: BGM changes.
7-4: Lowered difficulty slightly, the room right before the miniboss room is now a Peach room.
7-5: No changes.
7-6: BGM change & background change. Now has a secret exit.
7-7: No longer has a secret exit.
7-8: No changes.


WORLD 8

8-1: Renamed to Cinnamon Cliffs. BGM changes & aesthetic changes. Difficulty increased and Is now a Peach-only level.
8-2: Is now a Mario-only level.
8-3: Decreased difficulty; removed some enemies.
8-4: Changed some of the enemies, but other than that, the level is still the same.
8-5: Reworked. This is basically the old 8-5, but with major aesthetic changes.
8-6: BGM changed. Difficulty decreased.
8-7: Completely remade.
8-8: No changes.
