There have been many games that have visited hell, but not many have really gone past "demons are evil, here are some to kill". I felt that it would be interesting to not only make a game where the goal is not to just go around killing demons while in hell, but actually get a real feel for what hell could be like.
The damned are constantly tortured and maimed by demons.
It is either burning hot or icy cold, and the deeper down you go, the
worse it gets. The inhabitants shriek in agony while demons rule as they please.

Basic premise
The protagonists name is Siris. She is a pretty ordinary young girl.
But one day, her soul is stolen and cast into hell.
Now, if she wishes to keep living and evade having to spend eternity in hell,
she must travel the nine circles of hell and bring her soul back.

Siris' Inferno is going to be an adventure/puzzle game.
The game will be using original graphics and music custom-made for this game.
While there will obviously be some religion present, It's not going to focus on the religious aspects of hell at all.
Obviously there will be figures and enviroments FROM religion, but I'm not trying to sell any religion here. I just want to make a awesome game in a interesting setting.

There will be enemies, but no battles.
Often, if you get caught by a enemy, you are dead.
I'm working on pathfinding and other mechanics to make this as exciting as possible, so that for example
you can't just hide behind a wall and the enemy won't be able to catch you.
The idea is that you have to outsmart them, either by trapping them somehow, sneaking past them, or other mechanics.

Characters (WIP)

Siris
A young girl who lost her soul and now unwillingly
have to descend into hell. Inventive and easy-going.

Rehidiel
A bored succubus that helps Siris. The reason? According to Rehidiel she wants to see if a mortal will survive traversing hell. Probably just looking for entertainment.

At the moment, the game is in development.

Update

After a couple weeks of frenzied working on the game, I have finished another release of the game. This one goes down to circle 2, and I'm really excited seeing the reactions on this one, since stuff really starts to happen in this release.
Anyway, have at it, if you will.

I've been waiting for something like this to come along :) I think it's a really interesting concept. From the gameplay, I noticed one or two things that I think could be improved. I hate it when intros are too long, but I feel like yours wasn't quite long enough. It didn't give any sort of reason why Siris was entering the gates of Hell, nor did it introduce Rehidiel. It was a bit confusing, and I think players would benefit from more information about the story, rather than the backstory of the orb. I also had a bit of an issue when talking to other characters, some information would definitely have been lost had I not continued to try to talk to some characters, most notably the soul in the forest in limbo. He repeated himself many many times before giving me new information, though I hadn't made any progress that could have unlocked the new information. Other than those couple of things, I think the game's looking really awesome, and I'm excited to see a full game

Very dark game, Not to say I hate it completely just not my type with demons and hell
I frankly don't care for games that take place in hell. But good idea and all just one question why does a women loose her soul, very strange your character looks like red riding hood...LOL this time it is not an forest its hell, but back to point just think before you do things like this messing with hell and demons can be very dangerous just saying but all and all good job.

srry but even in the bible it goes in depth what hell is read the old testements of the bible plus a great consule game and book dantes inferno so talking or making a movie or game about hell is not a big deal btw great concept for a game
@makoto Thanks, and yeah it's pretty silly getting upset about people making games or writing about hell.
@LuxCalmeEtVolupte
It's far from finished (and may never be...). If I ever do continue working on this game, the reasons for entering hell and introducing Rehidiel will be done, promise.
Nice job with this so far. Very disturbing and creepy. Sort of reminds me of a cross between Silent Hill and Backstage.

looks interesting
hell is much more interesting to me them games about rape, slavery, loli, shoga, futa ect

in reality i do my best to believe that no one should go thru such suffering even if they have done bad things (sometimes....its really hard....)

ill check it out hope for more updates tho

Edit-
i cant believe i 4got to post a message after i played
This was great! when the demo ended a part of me died i was eger to play more :(
it seems this is another great project that met its end b4 being finished which is sad :(
i used to be under the impression that their was 6 lvls of hell the 6th being where Lucifer was but theirs 9 here which i found rather interesting
im glad you made this and released a demo id love to see this finished if that ever would happen
but since this seems to be a dead project i un subbed if it ever starts up again tho plz send me a pm
ill do a playthru on youtube for it to increase peoples awareness a bit
tho my channel does not have many subscribers i do it for fun and to show people things that interest me that lack a fanbase or awareness :3
I really like the concept. I'll download it right away and let you know what I think!

EDIT:
I played the whole game. Took me about 28 minutes, because I wasted a terrible amount of time on dipping the mushroom into the water.

I really like it. I assume it is a.o. inspired by Dante's Inferno ;)

The artwork is great. Music is cool as well (the panflute playing creature had me laughing. I really liked the song).

The puzzle at the end of ring 2 was not too hard, but original. I liked it.

So far; A really cool game!

All the other reactions here are from 2013, so I hope you will read this. Keep up the work!
I just downloaded this.. It was amazing.. I enjoyed it and can't wait for more. :)
