I thought I saw this on greenlight, but when I went back to check, it was gone. So, I have no idea. Maybe I saw something that looked similar? Maybe I imagined it? I've definitely never heard of a game like this before, though.
Also, found some bugs. Returning to the seaside map where you chase Vic, I found that run was permanently on and that the ledges all had passability issues.
edit: more bugs. Wants-to-look-a-white-blue-suit-guy, as soon as he's shown the white-blue suit, merrily clips his way through the table in front of him to get to the check-out counter. Also, the grateful merchants of market town presented me with two signs and a suit as a display of gratitude. Only one sign showed up in my inventory.
Great, thanks! We'll get those taken care of.

i noticed a definite bug, im not 100% sure what the conditions are, but under certain conditions in battle, when you have 0 power and are vulnerable, you can go into the tactics menu, and exit out. It will cure the vulnerability and act as if a round of battle has gone off ( both players earn their revenue ) but naturally neither player actually did anything, and the round timer goes up by 1. (so in a sense, a round does pass, just neither player does anything, thus sense a round passes it gets cured)
I remember this happening quite a few times on my tried of the first duel GM battle, (the one where the uppity GM summoned a partner, then swapped her partner) I wasn't doing it on purpose, and it caused problems with her summoning her next ally a turn early, and his casting stun, a turn early >.>
anyway, other then that, please release the full verson on PC atleast :o (I saw that questionnaire) its really a great game. By the way, you really should try steam greenlight, and what would the price on this be? I would already pay 5$, but seeing as how i get the feeling this would be a long game, the full verson would be more like 10-15$ (I'm not sure pricing something so unqiue at a higher price would do well on sales)
anyway all in all totally on my favorites list on games to stalk. how far are you anyway to finishing? It's like...SO AWESOME XD

BUG: Got the following while fighting the facilities manager.
-Facilities manager is vulnerable and under the effect of a smear campaign, but has $330. Last turn of the match. Facilities manager uses power up, and then attack, and then power up, and then attack, and then power up...infinitely.
edit: got a similar infinite heal money loop when fighting the business woman. Also last turn, also with smear campaign in effect, also after the enemy used the instant $300 ability.
2nd edit: was able to easily replicate this loop by using the same strategy in battle.
3rd edit: fought the facility manager again, and this time he came out of the smear campaign before the final turn, and he used a power up and an attack immediately one after another on the last turn.
NEW BUG: After finishing moving packages and being awarded two fiber uppercut boxes, went to speak with the cereal merchant. He was selling double K oats, but when I declined to buy anything, it said that I had gotten another fiber uppercut. I checked my inventory. I had not.

BUG: When hiring an accountant, the GM takes over, and Myron replaces him. Not only at the counter, but also where he was standing. And the Myron standing where the GM was is a GM clone that can give you the mission over and over again, or advance the plot.
edit: that HR manager. My god. Best character in the whole game.
2nd edit: cut-scene with Esper in the bank has ghost-people.
3rd edit: you can buy the same resume over and over again.
4th edit: Smoking Woman says "pittly" which should be "pitifully"
5th edit: after Ruthless arrives, GM says "I guess I owe everyone an explination"
6th edit: Says, when in his office, is passable
7th edit: Says' infinite attempting espionage loop when suffering from a smear campaign, attack reduced to zero, and goal bar at 10 in my favor. This was on turn 7, after Says extended the match turns until 10. Way to cheat, computer. Way to cheat.

Hi there! just passing by to leave some feedback. :3
I was pretty surprised by how this game goes on, it's certainly different from your usual RPG Maker game, and I like it! The sprites are good and story/battles are interesting. Oh, and scenes like when you meet and hire the security officer are great!
It gets a bit laggy sometimes, but maybe it's because I'm playing on an very ooold notebook, idk.
I didn't play until the end yet, but I feel like leaving some feedback already, cause I really liked this gamestyle.
So, good job!

It's laggy on my new desktop, too. I think it's something to do with the program itself. Also, there is leveling up, there's just many kinds of it. There's no conventional grind X stat with Y battles, but you can level up your primary stats through dialog or drinking, level up your business through renovation, level up your workers with training, level up your support staff by inviting them to battles, level up your media exposure by flyering the neighborhood, etc.
Int, Diligence, Luck, Charisma? When does this happen? That sounds like a bug to me.
edit: NEW BUG, you can't back out of trying to switch support characters in battle.
2nd edit: in the final battle, mamasan says "there's no end to your gaul". Should be gall.
3rd edit: hang on a second. This is happening to my stats, too. I had diligence maxed out, got some bonuses to it from dialog events, and now it's down at 8.
4th edit: while fighting the investor (don't ask. I hit my profit goal way early, and then took out every loan I could find to make it a challenge again. I missed by about 15 points,) I used a help wanted sign and a fiber uppercut before battle. During the battle, trying to access the tactics menu caused the turn counter display to advance, ended my turn, skipped my opponent's turn, and didn't actually advance the turn counter.
5th edit: yeah, it's definitely the fiber uppercut causing that. Tried the same thing again several different ways. Using a fiber uppercut always produces that result.
6th edit: ...or not? This is happening automatically now. I was able to fight the investor normally once, and then I reloaded, wore the gold suit, and bought the fiber uppercut. Will start trying different things to see if I can get this to stop happening.
7th edit: went out, bought some new cereal, and changed my suit. That seemed to do the trick. Also, game cleared. This was a lot of fun. You've definitely got bugs a-plenty, but considering all the custom scripts you're using, that's to be expected. I will absolutely be following this game through its development process. You've got a rare gem of a concept here, and--more importantly--it's fun to play.

I'd play more but dear gods, your game is kinda buggy at times and the cpu usage is quite high. I think that's the cause of the sluggishness, right?
The opening scene: hmm, the parts which led to his firing were a bit too straight-forward to me. Also, the humour didn't strike me as funny but perhaps it's me though.
Well, I don't mind walking around town as opposed to walking on the map but that's only IF there're different events going on.
Also, I think you could do with an editor so the characters will sound more in keeping with their characters. As it is, the dialogue is decent though.
The battle screen: looks okay to me but could do with some sprucing up with graphics + colours so it'd look more professional and less blocky or RPGish.
And more save slots, please! I kinda dislike having to manually back them up all the time, on my computer.

Thanks for the comments Tofu.
As you've seen, we still have quite a ways to go, so many of the concerns you've raised will indeed be addressed in due time.
For instance, the current introduction is placeholder. In the final game the intro will be playable. Likewise the battle interface will be completely visual and will feature more graphical effects and animations. Reducing the lag will happen during our Beta optimization pass, etc.
Thanks for taking the time to play the demo and do continue to post feedback if you keep playing. We're taking it all in right now and the more comments and critiques we can get at this point, the more we can improve the final game :)
Cheers,

Okay, thanks! =) Glad to know far more improvements are on the way.
1) i hope to see a graphical interface which will represent the graphs and many other statistics and how they all affect one another.
2) given the complexity of the game, I hope to see a manual(in-game or otherwise) I can read and refer to. ^^;;
3) I think the in-game battles are a bit complicated. I noticed there are many different types of battles but the commands serve similar functions.
Defend, attack, summon or buff or special attack/defend. Why not just simplify or merge some of them as in giving them similar titles and add in other features so there're more tactics?
4) Okay, I got this error. If I press F12 to return to title menu and then attempt to load a Save file, I get this error:
5) What does the Nurilite energy drink do? I can't remember what it does and there isn't an item description. And even when I used it before a battle, nothing seems to happen or I just didn't notice it.
6) Lottery ticket only works once. After that, nothing happens if you buy another ticket and scratch it. Is it supposed to be of one use only?
7) Will the game be reflecting what types of customers you get by giving out flyers and doing other actions or are all customers treated as the same? I hope there'll be some difference in the quality of customers and maybe, the richer types could be more rare. Or maybe not! =)
8) I assume you simplified the sales aspect of the game and just integrated it into a Profit Meter, eh?
9) I greatly enjoyed that con game haha. A shame I couldn't
Btw, I should let you know that I didn't really follow much of a strategy. I just randomly tried different things, tried talking to people and oops... looks like i played quite badly. :P My capital is kinda low(4k), I got to the discounts about key staffs far too late and on and on... lmao. I have not got to the investors yet. LOL.
Tofu, it's still possible to miss your profit target and win. You just get an extra solo fight at the end. Also, you can get disproportionately massive bonuses from doing the distribution center sidequest. Myron is apparently the god of putting boxes in trucks. IMHO, the investments are actually a trap. I did great without them. You can, however, minimize the extent to which they can trap you by cranking your capital and profit before taking them, and doing well on the investment fight with the banker late in the game can net you serious bonuses (I think I got 70,000 at 15%, and that was without the platinum suit on.)
My suggestion to new players is this:
-first focus on developing sources of PP that pay out over time. Flyering the neighborhood is expensive, but will get you started. As long as you know who to give them to, you will never need more than 15 flyers total. Also, don't mulch PP into drinks at the bar. Save drink coupons for that. PP is the most flexible resource in the game. Use them instead of cash when you can. Stockpile them otherwise. Eventually, you'll get a key NPC that can turn them into profit or cash, and your business will grow explosively at this point.
-your next priority should be winning battles decisively. A small investment in suits will help. Don't hesitate to use disposable items occasionally. I think you only have to get 6 goal points or higher to have a really decisive victory, but I'm not 100% sure on the numbers for this. Shutting down the enemy's ability to hurt you is far more effective than attacking outright. When you level up, cash flow is more important than workforce.
-do side-quests where you can find them. They are almost always marked with a blue floating star. The cash and PP rewards are okay, but a lot of them give you access to new key personnel. When you get the right staff, invest in growing your business as soon as you can.
-Avoid loans for as long as possible. Hitting your profit target will give you a massive bonus, and theoretically you can hit it multiple times by taking out loans afterwards.
-As soon as you get the ability to summon staff in battle, start doing it. That exp is critical. All of them have different abilities, so you can use them to set up charges or guards when Myron is busy doing important Myron-y things. The GM's -3 for -6 power ability is nice, but only use it if it will completely neutralize your opponent's power, or if you leveled up your power once. In my experience, power doesn't do much, but then I completely cranked mine. It may be that goal point damage dealt is calculated by the difference in powers between you and your opponent. I'm not sure.
edit: just a minor point, but I really like how the general strategies used to play a successful game (advertising early and often, local networking, avoiding crippling loans, etc) match up with the strategies used to run a small business. This game could've chosen to be totally wacky, but it somehow stayed grounded in business philosophy, and I really respect that.

@Kumada: You sound like a great business man to me :)
@Tofu:
1.) Yep. The proper main menu with the ability to track progress across all aspects of your business is coming in a future version.
2.) We will have a log with important tutorial info eventually as well.
3.) The battle system is WIP so as we continue to improve and sharpen it, we can hopefully make it feel accessible without losing the depth.
4.) Looking into that. Thanks!
5.) It doubles your speed which can be used in a lot of scenarios to get hidden benefits. Also, it just allows you to move around faster for a short period of time.
6.)There is a 3-in -0 chance of winning something with each scratch and only a 1-in-10 chance of winning the grand prize. Since it's random, it's possible that you just were out of luck :p
7.)That was originally the intent, but it was a bit hard to read... We may reconsider it after we finish implementing the second pass on the NPC interactions.
8.)The concept of "Sales" or more accurately "Profitability" is one aspect that the Profit Meter is related to, yes.
9.)That sounds awesome actually. Nice idea!
Thanks for the feedback and comments. I hope I was able to answer all your questions.

Edit: Also, Investing in Stock early and waiting to sell high a good thing :)
