How it all started and what's to come

Hello RMN!
My officially first game ever developed for the public has just been accepted. I started using RPG Maker VX ACE a few months ago and it took me longer than it should have to learn how to actually use the engine properly, you know, with the tile-sets and the scripting and the database functions. When I eventually learned how to use the engine, a lot of ideas went through my mind: do I go for the big one right away, do I just experiment with different concepts, do I make a number of short 15 minute games, or do I just create something simple and fun, that a lot of people could just have fun with?
After a few weeks of playing tug-of-war with myself, I ultimately decided that going for the big one was out of the question. Few first-time game developers succeed, so the odds were stacked against me. Experimenting was just boring at this point. And a series of short 15 minute games didn't seem like the kind of thing I would be interested in even developing. No, I wanted to create my own fantasy world where everyone within it played by my own rules. And so, Dragon's Dream was born.
Begin Here For Goals and What to Expect
So, what exactly are my goals for Dragon's Dream? Well, my first and prime goal has always been to ensure that the game, at its core, is fun to play. It's the premise for all entertainment and shouldn't be neglected for the story, for the visuals, or even for the gameplay. Aside from that, the flow of a story has always been important to me. I can't stand when it takes too long to make any significant story progress, even though I just saved a village, cleared an entire dungeon, and slew a mighty cave troll to wrap it all up. So, for now, my two goals are to: provide fun and ensure the that game progresses at a reasonable pace.
And to deal with the other part, what can you all expect to get out of Dragon's Dream? Well, hopefully, you're provided with entertainment. Beyond that basic need, I hope that you're brought into a world of high-fantasy where entire castles, cities, towns and villages are melted and burned by fierce dragons. I hope that you're brought into a world where little hope exists, where four ordinary people form an unlikely friendship and where an entire kingdom is dependent upon those four ordinary people to save what's left of their homeland, Ruce.
I hope this has provided you with some minor insight into my goals, and what you can expect from the game. I really hope you enjoy it because a lot of work is being put into it. And if you don't enjoy it, I would very much like to know the reasons why, not so I can start a comment war, but so I can improve Dragon's Dream for the end result.
