I wish blogs had a polling feature

I can't decide what text speed to use, while some have expressed annoyance at the slightly slower text speed the former demo used, some didn't really seem to care at all.

I'm strongly leaning towards increasing the text speed of the game (sans very few sentences) but I'm having trouble deciding.

If anyone is reading this, opinions?

Progress is going smoothly right now, but I'm held back from doing npcs by this text speed decision.

In my opinion, only use a speed change during more dramatic parts, not during regular dialogue. Otherwise, the game drags a bit.

The standard dialogue speed works well 99% of the time, I'd say. But during automated cutscenes sometimes slowing it down just a bit would help to ensure the player absorbs everything. (But make sure they have something to look at in addition to blocks of texts in this case!)

I don't recall your dialogue being slow but speeding it up is definitely a smart idea. If you really want to you could pull a \S[\V] and give the player options to change the text speed somewhere in-game. (I believe that works.)

Hey, I enjoyed Phantom Legacy and am looking forward to the next demo or whatever. As for text speed, I think it was fine before, but there is no real downside to making it faster. People who aren't going to pay proper attention to the story in the first place won't be encouraged by slower text, they will just find it annoying.
I think the speed you used for the most recent demo is perfect. Really fast text makes cutscenes seem a bit cheap, to be honest. And it might discourage people who don't like sitting through long scenes filled with text, but don't forget that holding the SHIFT button during dialogue scenes speeds it up significantly, so I really don't think there's any problem with your current text speed.

Really hope to hear about more progress involving this game! Demon Legacy is beyond a doubt one of my favourite RPG Maker games, and I'm in love with Phantom Legacy from what I've played so far. The game is extremely polished and well-made, it's very hard to remember that this is being made on RM2k3. :)
I think its fine the way it is. And I am one of those users that like everything fast mind you...
The text speed you currently have is fine. It gives more of an 'effect'. At least, that is my two cents.

Please oh lord make it super fast. Slowing it down doesn't add any sort of value to the game. It will only bother those players who want to move at their own pace. Nobody ever complained about books having instant text for dialogue.
