Introduction
Nusakana is an open world RPG about fishing, adventures, friendship, and the dark secret of the titular island, set on a tropical island. It offers gameplay element from game such as Atelier series, our main inspiration, with open world element, though identical to western RPGs, is closer to JRPGs’ style of open world, emphasizes more on the freedom of how do you play the game, rather than what to explore inside the game.

Set in a world parallel to the 1950s. The world is just recovering from the great war, and political power from the north are seeking new land rich with natural resources to recover their loss in the war and rebuilding their torn country. Located in the southern hemisphere, Nusakana island is a budding tourist destination, while also rich in mana, a natural resources comparable to oil with magical properties required to summon the elements by the long, extinct magic users called the Elvan. Many people set sight on this island, and soon it is flooded with tourists, researchers, and shady figure alike.

In Nusakana you are playing as a nameless fisherman visiting Nusakana island. The goal is to uncover the island’s secret in 3 years. But 3 years is a long time (1080 days?), there’s so much free time to use for discovering what it offers to you. As a fisherman you can try to catch rare, legendary fishes. Or you can go on adventure around the island, discover its secrets in a subtle main story line we have included. You can choose an easy life of trading and settle down with the locals, then marry one of the village beauties after the island’s secret is uncovered, of course. You can even forget your goal and experience how bad the bad ending is. Everything is up to you, the player, how do you want the game to progress and end.

Delay and Polishing the game further

Hi everyone, it’s num. In the last devlog we estimated that Nusakana will be ready for release around the end of September, but oh boy, how wrong we are. The game proved to be even more larger than we thought it is originally will be. During an internal beta test we did, the playthrough almost clocked to 30 hours, and that is with all the knowledge of the game beforehand, no blind run. With that experience on hand, we estimated roughly that the regular gameplay will take probably around 30 – 50 hours. During the test, we also discover a lot more bugs that is pretty major and could hamper the gameplay. But rest assured, all of those are now in the past, we have completed the beta testing! Although, it mean that the game need to be delayed further… But it’s for greater good, we swear!

With the game now confirmed to be playable and actually clearable, we are moving on to the polishing phase, adding missing features, functionalities, and preparing the game to be released on Steam. One of the major functionalities we add is xbox360 gamepad (x-input) compatibility. By default, the engine we are using doesn’t support x-input, so if you want to play the game using xbox gamepad (which is pretty much standard for gamepad on PC gaming nowadays), well, it will be pretty messy since the control is not configured properly and there is no way to change the gamepad key input. But thanks to Gamepad Extender script from Lone Wolf and the edit from wltr3565. You can now use xbox360 gamepad when playing Nusakana properly! Not only that you can also change the gamepad key input if you wish so! Isn’t it pretty neat?

The xbox360 gamepad compatibilities is one of the many functionalities we are going to add and polish further. Hopefully everything goes well, and we can release Nusakana… Well, I don’t dare to actually estimate when it will be released, since the last time we estimate… It’s going off chart and delayed. But for sure, we will release it before this year end, that’s my promise! See you in the next devlog, and thank you for reading!

BLUE EVERYWHERE D:
And after a long time, now Nusakana is here in RMN. Glad to know that, bro.
I'll look forward into the development...

Good "luck" :troll.jpg:
Though... Nusakana's RMN page has been up for half a year. The page's existence wasn't spoken much in RMID, richter_h.

And this blueness is the power of css :true:

Thank you! we are working hard to finish this game, though we are just 2 person and a composer working on our free time, so progress is kinda slow. Hopefully the finished product will be enjoyable to play for all :D

This looks really good, subbed :D
Also that background bothers me so much, for some reason it makes me think it looks blurry because it isn't fully loaded yet >_<
Subbed, looks good. Having said that, is the game going to have a demo of any kind? Proceeding without one and the associated feedback usually isn't the best idea for commercial RM games; instances of "developer difficulty" can be left in, and there isn't the burst in publicity a good demo can provide. I hope you can release one soon.
Sorry for the late reply guys!

Thank you! Well the blurred background is somewhat intended so it doesn't clash with the main page content haha.

Of course, the game will have a demo. We will upload it here as soon as it is available and actually playable. Would also love to hear feedbacks from the people too!

At the moment, we are currently on internal beta testing process, but hopefully it won't be long until the demo is available to try.
