Sacred Reviews: Mordred's Castle

I originally published this video review back in May of 2014, but this game has been updated since this review at least a little bit. Though, if those updates fixed any of the problems I brought up in this video review so long ago I couldn't say. As such, I suppose this review may need to be taken with a grain salt, but my experience with this game was pretty bad. Though, I'll start by listing it's more positive attributes.

On the plus side the game features a rather large dungeon to explore with a large cast of characters that can be recruited for your cause. The game also includes a key item that allows you to access that shop anytime you are outside of combat. So you can stalk up on recovery potions and browse for new weapons and armor at your convenience.

On the downside the large nature of the dungeon means the game doesn't put enough emphasis or focus on the narrative. Though, my biggest problem with the game was that the final boss was near impossible to kill. In fact, in order to prepare to fight the boss I had to devout hours of my life into grinding for stat boosting items in order to max my entire party's stats. And even with that I was barely able to pull of a victory after multiple attempts.
