Why are these monsters so strong?

Mint says:
What are you doing, mashing X? How about you use your skills! If you ever start to run out of mp, most characters have skills that recover or drain mp, so feel free to go nuts! If all you do is attack, you'll be able to take out slimes and rats, but when the monsters get tougher, don't come crying to me!

How do I learn skills?

Mint says:
Most of the basic stuff can be learned by leveling, but some of the advanced skills can only be learned from other people. That's the way it is: whenever you think you're at your peak, some showoff comes around that's better than you. So, my advice? Talk to lots of people! Maybe if you help them out, they'll teach you something AWESOME!

How do I change classes?

Mint says:
Does this look like Dragon Warrior?! This is real life! If you want to be a wizard, use magic! If you want to be a warrior, go beat on a monster with a stick! Just make sure that you're using the right equipment...

Which weapon should I use?

Mint says:
It's up to you! Each character can use lots of different weapons. Ivy can use swords, daggers, axes, and two-handed weapons. I can use guns and bows. There are also other characters who can use spears, staves, and claws. Axes are the strongest one-handed weapon, but they have a lower hit rate than swords and daggers. Some weapons, like staves, bows, daggers, and some swords, have higher spirit than attack, so they're better for magic users. Experiment with different weapons and find what's best for you!

Fire Slash isn't doing any damage!

Mint says:
That's not a question! Maybe if you followed the rules, you'd hit harder with Fire Slash! Magic-based attacks deal damage based on your spirit value, so make sure to increase it by equipping robes and magic-geared weapons. You'll lose some defense, but your magic-based moves will hit a lot harder.

How can I tell which moves are physical and which are magical?

Mint says:
Easy.
This little book means that the skill is magic-based, so it uses your spirit value. Keep in mind that most healing spells tend to use this, so they scale with your spirit. Some skills, like buffs and status-causing spells, don't heal or do damage, so even if they have this icon, they don't scale with spirit.
This fist means that the skill is physical, so it uses your attack value. Now you know everything you need to go bash on some nerds, you muscle-bound freak!

Binding Gel D? What the hell is that?!

Mint says:
That's a monster material! They drop them like crazy, but they're super useful. If you need some quick cash, you can sell them, but it's probably better to hold onto them since they can be used to make cool weapons, armor, and accessories later.

Here's a thought. If you guys were in a band, what would your instruments be?

Mint says:
This is a tough one! I mean, not for me--I'd just play drums.

Yvette says:
Why's that?

Mint says:
Because they're the loudest!

Yvette says:
Figures.

Mint says:
I don't know about Ivy, though. She's a musical genius, so she can play ANYTHING. I mean, have you heard her play piano?

Cyril says:
...Yes.

Mint says:
What would you play, Yvette?

Yvette says:
Isn't it obvious? You're looking at lead singer material. Five years of vocal lessons with Avishun's top singers--perk of being a princess.

Mint says:
Wow!

Yvette says:
Now let's rock and roll, brother.

P.S. Really good game here, and I like that you're still responding to posts to this day. Just wish people would ask more questions on Ask Mint. (must think of questions)

So. More questions! 4 Questions! And even more questions!:

What are your favorite colors?

What is your most favorite thing out of the things that you've seen on your adventures?

What monster would you want as a pet?

What regular animal would you want as a pet?

How well can you dance?
author=Malandy
What are your favorite colors?

Mint says:
How do you choose? Hmm...how about a nice, dark green...

Mint says:
Like a goblin's butt!

author=Malandy
What is your most favorite thing out of the things that you've seen on your adventures?

Mint says:
Alright, I'm going to tell you a secret, so you can't tell anyone, ESPECIALLY Grandpa.

Mint says:
When we were in Solomon's Furrow, I found some old clothes in Grandpa's basement, so when he wasn't looking, I took them, walked outside, and...

Mint says:
Dressed up all the pigs! It was adorable! They kept squealing like they really liked it and we had a tea party and then we rolled in the mud!

Mint says:
Of course the clothes got pretty muddy and I had to tear them a little so they would fit, but I just shoved them underneath Grandpa's bed.

Mint says:
It was pretty dusty down there, so I bet he'll never find them!

author=Malandy
What monster would you want as a pet?

Mint says:
That's easy! A sea slug!

Mint says:
But, like, you can't just have one sea slug, you know? I'd need at least 24, and even better if it's 30 or 40 if I want this production of Cats to be successful.

author=Malandy
What regular animal would you want as a pet?

Mint says:
Piggies of course!

author=Malandy
How well can you dance?

Mint says:
I'm the best dancer! I'll have you know that I've danced until I've passed out on five separate occasions!

Mint says:
I'm not supposed to dance anymore...

Mint says:
So now I must dance in secret...
Who put all those metal squares with arrows everywhere? And how do you all survive such high drops?!
author=Suus
Who put all those metal squares with arrows everywhere?

Mint says:
You know, I've never really thought about that...

Yvette says:
Better let me take this one, kid.

Mint says:
...

Yvette says:
It was the late '90s. Arcades--once hubs of childhood social activity--had been quickly losing ground to home consoles over the past few decades. The birth of 3-D consoles had all but rung the death knell for arcades, and the war was almost over. But then...

Yvette says:
Then came the Dance Dance Revolution. New, more interactive machines brought new life to arcades! The war was back in full swing, with consoles creating bulky and mostly disfunctional peripherals that weren't able to compete with the pricier and more fat-kid resistant hardware used by Dance Dance Revolution machines. The war continued with no end in sight.

Yvette says:
But, alas! The Dance Dance Revolution could only last so long. Consoles got more and more advanced until they achieved total sentience. After turning their mechanical arms and noose-like cables to their human oppressors, their hubris in being the best technology made them seek out every last arcade and dusty warehouse. They destroyed those Dance Dance Revolution machines. The once-proud arcade champion was now no more than a pile of useless electronics, their iconic arrows strewn about the world to clearly indicate jump-off points and teleport spots...

Yvette says:
It's just...so sad...

Yvette says:
Boohoohoohoo!

Mint says:
Why did you do that, Suus?!

Mint says:
Why did you make her remember the Dance Dance Revolution?!

author=Suus
And how do you all survive such high drops?!

Mint says:
Uh, duh, we have wings.

Yvette says:
Yeah, duh...

Yvette says:
Wait, Mint, you don't have wings.

Mint says:
What are you, the wing police?!*

*Developer's Note: Luckily the wing police were mostly disbanded, so Mint's in the clear.**

**Developer's Note: To answer the question, video game characters are like cats: you can drop them off of the Empire State Building and they'll land on their feet.***

***Developer's Note: After some research, the cat analogy isn't factually correct.
Mint, what do you think of Housekeeping's other games?
Mint says:
Oh, don't get me started onvideo games. Don't you know that playing video games makes you more violent? I mean, haven't you seen the studies?

Mint says:
When Yvette played The Heart Pumps Clay, she covered me in mud and put a flower in my hair!

Mint says:
When she played Born Under the Rain, she wrapped me in toilet paper and started going "Cha-ka-ka-ka-ka!"

Mint says:
When she played The God of Crawling Eyes, well...

Mint says:
EEeeeeep!
author=Malandy
Mint, what do you think of Housekeeping's other games?

What about Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass?
author=Malandy
What about Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass?

Mint says:
Are you kidding me? Yvette managed to snag a pirated early access copy, so we've been playing it for weeks now. Transforming into monsters is so much fun!

Mint says:
Poof!

Mint says:
Oink, oink, oink!
Since Photobucket decided to jump from "greasy thug" to "comically evil super villain," I'm going to lock Ask Mint rather than going through the trouble of editing back all of those face graphics. This hasn't really gotten much traffic lately, so I don't think this will be a major issue, but if Photobucket changes their third party hosting policy, then I'll open this back up for comments.

Edit: On second thought, I'm going to leave this open for a week or so then I'll switch it to "dev only" since it's such an eyesore. If anybody has a better course of action, let me know.
Do you still have all those pictures? If so, could you upload them in a rar or something, here, or as Resources?

Oh, at least they're still on Photobucket.
Yeah, Photobucket is now a useless service that just exists so that you can share a virtual album with people or you can let them extort you into allowing you to actually use your pictures.

We will now take a moment of silence for "Ask Mint".

Stupid Photobucket!

Oh! Piping images from lockers is apparently easy, as Marrend showed... Hiding 'cause it's a sorta long explanation:

I guess you could make another account just for hosting pictures or something? It'd just be a matter of replacing:

"://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/breakdancingrobot/"

with:

"s://rpgmaker.net/media/content/users/Housekeeping/locker/"

Copying into Notepad and running a find and replace for each post... I guess you could ask a mod to do it, if you want??

Search and replace, you say? That gets me curious.

I just did a search for "okiku_happy" to see what results came up. For the most part, the results were generalized, more often referring to gamepages, or sub-pages (like reviews), than specific posts that had said image in it. I'd imagine for something like trying to replace the images used in this page, that it would just return this page.
The problem is that I've got to replace multiple different face graphics with multiple posts, so it's just going to be time-consuming to upload all those pictures. I'll probably swap this to "dev only," so I won't actually delete this page. Maybe if I've got some spare time I'll fix it up--it might go faster than I expect with that method, Malandy, and I kind of hate to take this page down.

Also, thanks, Marrend. Photobucket is STUPID indeed.
Well, you could do it all in one batch, gathering all the posts into one txt, and mass copy-replace, and reboot Ask Mint so you start back on page 1?

'Cause Ask Mint is the main issue here? I think? And then handle the rest as they come up or something.
