Now, before I really begin, I'd like to say that this is my first submission.
It's incredibly ambitious but cheer me on!

Chastitas: The Broken Land is broken down into 4 "Sagas," each of which containing
up to 4 chapters. The first saga is incredibly typical, and from there, your choices
impact which "branch" you take in the second saga, and so on. I plan, (Hope!), to
release an initial demo of the game, release each saga as I finish it, and then release the entire package when completed.

Target Release Date of First Saga: 8-07-2014

Feature Synopsis
Chastitas: The Broken Land is a traditional RPG made in the likeness of the
game that inducted me into the RPG genre: Final Fantasy. Combat now uses Yanfly's Classical ATB system and makes use of Yanfly's Battle Engine and Yami's Battle Symphony to give it some flair. Story is the primary focus here, much like FF, with the game pretty much serving as an interesting an interactive way to read and shape the story. Contains Vanilla Tracks and music from Aaron Krogh's free to use RPG Maker score, as well as the RMN Music Pack. It wil also, as of 2/25/2014, contain music from the Adventurer's Journey and Blackheart Music Pack DLCs provided by RPG Maker via Steam.

The game will also contain several tracks from Dan Johansen. A wonderful composer and artist who can be found at the following pages:

Story
In the year 587, a young wanderer by the name of Kenshi is jumped by a group of bandits whilst celebrating his sister's birthday. Tossed into a prison; Kenshi is freed by the leader of the group who has just recently kidnapped him...
From there, Kenshi will learn of a prophecy set forth by the Gods and the Fates that dictates the end of the world: Shometsu.
Lead Kenshi, his friends, and his children through the world of Chastitas with an unimaginably large host of characters spanning multiple generations, in their quest to stop the fruition of Shometsu.
Every choice you make dictates where the story shall lead, and each choice just might mean the death of someone important...

Warning! Warning! Warning!
Does contain language, themes, and contexts that may or may not be appropriate for younger audiences. User Discretion is advised.

Slowly Getting There...

Alright, so I've officially revamped the nice little intro area, otherwise known as the "Bandit Town" or "Bandit Hideout." Screenies of the new areas'll be up in the images. I've made the whole scenario of Akai's little Mutiny and Kenshi getting let out a bit more believable and less WTF.

In addition to revamping the intro area, I've nearly finished the events immediately following what happens after you enter Nairikuno. I've just got to figure out the creatures that'll hinder you, as well as how to do the boss. Soon as I'm done with that, I'll finish up the interiors for Nairikuno, start working on the dungeon beneath the town, and start brainstorming how to map out The Dynastic Roads.

I still haven't finished the gear lists, nor have I implemented the weapon and armor reforms. >.<

Well, wish me luck!

I'll be posting a short demo on the 10th, so your waiting shant be long!
Initial Demo released and available at 6:00 PM 1/10/2014

Enjoy!
Well I played until Akai,I think he was called, fights you a second time and...he kicks my a**.
Anyway, here I leave you some notes of mine:

- That tutorial was a cute way to teach new players basic controls but that tutorial battle was way longer than it should have and you have to heal yourself up several times before you beat. It's an incredibly hard battle if it's meant to be played by someone who has never played an RPG before.

- The begining was a bit rushed, at least show me how the main character was captured or something.

- Different characters with different drawings styles for their faces, it's so weird to watch. But you are not the only that does that.

- At the beggining it was weird that the main character is a "rice lover" but later on it's hilarious xD.

- After you go downstairs(or upstairs, I don't remember) the game becomes incredibly monotonous. You can do nothing but use the basic attack and enemies last more than they should. Also, the ones you can't avoid hit pretty hard too.

- Skills can never be used on battle because they cost too many points. I couldn't use the girl's skills not even once.

- Healing items and skills barely heal your characters. Also, the healing ability from the main characters costs almost no mana but heals almost nothing. I used it several times out of battle so it's the same in the end, but why not just make it more powerful but more mana expensive?

- Akai destroys me the second time you fight him. Even using kenshi's rice (super special rice FTW) he still leaves me almost dead with one hit. Did you even test that battle?

- Yohei got killed in a battle before getting to Akai. Is it a bug or was it intentional? I guess you deliberately made him inmortal due to plot reasons but just make him way more durable instead of inmortal.

- Akai kicks my a**.

- The dialogue is actually pretty good and fluid for a game that is not so polished.

- Akai kicks my a**.

- Why is it that there's nothing to heal up before the final boss of the dungeon(I guess he is). I can't even fight full strenght when akai kicks my a**.

- Did I mention akai kicks my ass?

Overall, it's a decent demo but needs a lot of work. I will follow this just to see how much it improves. I guess it will since you claim it to be an ambitious project.
Good luck ^_^
Hey Urano, thanks for the feedback. I'm definitely going to save that list there and use it as some notes. As for the unable to heal part, I believe I should've informed the player what the uses of some items would be, as well as point out the "First Aid" skill which can only be used outside of battle. I'm definitely going to have to work on that. As for testing out the battles with Akai, It seemed fine when I played through it. Did you remember to put on the equipment you found? Nonetheless, I failed to realize that players may occasionally need direction.

Thanks again!
New, Improved, and Extended demonstration has been released as of 7:57 PM, 1/20/2014
US Mountain Time.
Edit:
I fear I worded that poorly,
Akai will no longer end the game prematurely. Instead, as was originally intended, he kicks your ass on purpose, and then dialogue and stuff get mixed and you end up kicking Akai's ass.
In the beginning...the "apparition of a young girl" needs some underwear.

I don't suppose you'd care to elaborate? I don't see anything wrong with it myself.
There seems to be more than two legs.
When you enter the oasis in the South East you cant exit. Also inside the oasis, you cant enter the top tent, but the main thing is that when you go into the bottom tent you cant exit that either. I think this was one of the same two bugs from your earlier demo.

Already got that fixed mate. Thanks for the feedback. Anyhow, there's nothing I can do about that "seems to be more than two legs" problem, as it seems to be a matter of personal perspective. Sorry.
Ha! Thanks for fixing those bugs.
I cant believe no one sees that third little "something" on that sprite. I guess it has to be something my computer is funning with. I have a couple of people who looked at it and said it DID look like it needed underwear. Weird.
Also another bug, in the same place, although its a GOOD bug sort. The man will continue to give 2 fish every time.
How soon will you put up the bug fix? I like this.

I'll have to look at the fish thing. I'll have the bug fix, hopefully with AT LEAST the Cursed Passages finished, out by the end of the week, preferably Friday rather than Sunday. I know, I know, my blogs say I wasn't going to let one out until I finished the Passages and the first part of Nairikuno, but if all else fails, I'm at least gonna let the bug fix and Aesthetics update out.

Go ahead and visit the Biographies page and some of the newer screenies to pass the time if you'd like XD

In any case, thanks for all the feedback so far Roy, spotting those bugs I accidentally overlook is a wonderful boon to progress. Keep it up!

That's not gonna happen tonight =_=
Unfortunately, my time is a bit limited this weekend, so it won't be out until late Sunday. Sorry.

Edit: Scratch the Weapon and Armor system, that's not gonna be finished for a while >.<
157 weapons and 198 various armor items are gonna take a long time to re-balance.
Aesthetics Update Version 3.1 is now out. Hopefully this one's bug free :D

Whoa. Um...English please?

Not meaning to be rude; anyway, realize that the version linked to the "Download Now" button is a bit old. There's a large amount of bugs in that one that no longer exist. You could play the "Tester's Version" accessible through the downloads page which is, ironically, public. I do think it jumps past quite a bit, however.
Can't find the mage so as too inter the northern mountain . Where is the mage.?
