I temporarily stalled production on the game for a month or two to gather up inspiration for game mechanics and such, but don't worry, the game is still being made! By the time Chapter 1 is complete, I'll upload one last demo, which will give me time to focus on finishing.
To gain inspiration, I played through old classics, such as Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6, as well as new releases, such as Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia.
Some of the changes and additions I intend to make are:
- Elimination of the class system in favor of an item-based character developement system.
- Branching story paths, leading to alternate endings. Morality and choices make a big difference in the games story. For example, every character that is destined to die in the story can be saved if you made the right choices.
- Dynamic equipment allows you to outfit your characters according to your preferred play style.
