Forgive me if I sound sycophantic but there is honestly no other to describe Project Oscine than a Masterpiece, and my review I’m sure can’t do it justice. It is one of the best RPGmaker games I have ever played. Set in a simulated combat environment you and a team of 3 other elite soldiers must fight through ten levels of simulated dungeon, set to mirror the dystopian world in which the characters live. You can’t die in the simulation, well not permanently, but as your goal is to collect useful combat data not dying is a plus!

Unlike many RPG games you can build a team exactly the way you want. Each characters class may be chosen, followed by 8 of a number of skills chosen. Customisation of a team can be paramount when you get to later dungeons. Combat is so fast paced that random battles don’t get on your nerves in the way they normal end up doing. Boss battles too are rapid fire but still require significant strategy to overcome.

Once you enter the simulation each character will choose one of ten classes from here. The centre console is able to give advice on which class fits each role

After your team is set up it’s onto the first of 10 floors of dungeon crawling. While NPC encounters are common, as I have said before, the fights are so fast paced that they really don’t get in the way of progressing around the map much at all. However though you may be tempted to run from fights do not do so as each fight rewards highly with numerous drops which can be sold off at a safe zone between floors and the proceeds used to buy all sorts of trinkets and shiny things to aid in your descent.

The Construction of the game is simply superb. The music choices are faultless and the graphics, very pretty, although many enemies are default. It took me roughly 3 hours to go through all 10 floors of the dungeon but where this game differs from many others is once you complete this objective you don’t simply get a smiley face congratulating you on a job well done like you do in most RPG games. You can replay the dungeons with your stats, equipment and achievements intact. Second time however you can do optional side bosses as your rank should be high enough to pass many rank restricted doors

These doors got on my nerves the first run-through. I don’t believe in restricted access!

Summing up the game is tough, it was incredibly fun to play, everything felt well balanced and fine-tuned and honestly, I can hardly fault it. I would prefer a deeper story but that’s just my personal taste. I have to give it, overall, 5/5 outstanding. I eagerly await Arkecias next project and suggest if you haven’t already done so you download and give this masterpiece a play! It is certainly one of my all time favorites.

This was quite the treat to wake up to Peticks; I'm glad you really enjoyed the game!

This project was my way of forcing myself to finish something, so the story is pretty light, but a prequel of this game is in the works that will have a balance between gameplay and story. It's going to chronicle what happens right when the virus hits the city areas, and later the rest of the world; focusing on how people dealt with the chaos.

Thank you for the review!
