Tiny Cave is a very short Choose-Your-Own-Adventure IF I made in Twine. It's pretty old-school in that it branches widely (well, as widely as you can with only ~13 passages) and there's no variables that track the game state. In fact, the name "Tiny Cave" is a play on the title of the first CYOA book, The Cave of Time. (Also the term "time cave", which was coined by Sam Kabo Ashwell in his analyses of CYOA strcutures.)

It was inspired by a Twine challenge where you could only use 15 passages and 1,000 words, which is why it's so short. The cover image comes from here, and the CSS was ripped off from Brendan Patrick Hennessey's You Will Select a Decision. Unlike many CYOAs Tiny Cave has no bad endings, and passages are very short, so this could be a good game for kids if you have any. I'll probably upload an annotated version of the .tws source file some time this week.

Download with source code added!

I've let this game page sit fallow for far too long a time, so today I went out and actually did what I promised over a month ago(!) and submitted a download with the source code. I've tried to do a good job of annotating it so that it's clear for newcomers to Twine to read. Note that you will need to use Twine version 1.4 or greater to open the .tws file; you can download Twine at Twinery.org.
