Almost two years have passed since God put an end to humanity, but one man unwittingly escaped the apocalypse when he locked himself into his house in the woods and didn't come back out. Safe at home while society collapsed around him, John had lived a quiet, routine, and peaceful life on his own. But all good things must come to an end: he has recently run low on supplies and must leave his sanctuary to collect more if he is to continue to survive. Join him as he ventures out, braving the post-apocalyptic world around him and unraveling the mysteries of his strange situation for the very first time since the end of days began.

The Age of Deliverance is a short, exploration and story-based adventure game developed using RPG Maker VX Ace. Typical gameplay from start to finish averages around 2 to 4 hours. Includes custom, hand-drawn, and awesome MS Paint graphics and a full soundtrack of (pretty good) free-for-use music.

Thanks for 100+ Downloads!

I know, I know. In the grand scheme of things, 100 downloads may not seem like the biggest deal. Still, when I uploaded this strange little game of mine to the site I had no idea what the response would be like. Now, two weeks later, it’s gotten a detailed review, a screenshot featured as a Pic of the Moment on the homepage, and more than one hundred people to download it. For me, that’s pretty fantastic. Thanks to everyone who has played this game or will play it in the future!

UPDATE: Based on some of the feedback I’ve received so far, I’ve realized that certain character/story elements weren’t coming through as I had wanted. I’ve made a few (very minor) modifications to try to correct that issue. As of this posting, the updated version of the game has replaced the older one for download.

I can't help but notice that this game has yet to receive the coveted featured badge and star on the games main page.

Interesting choice for a feature. Congrats! I'll have to check this one out soon.

It's one of my favorite games on RMN and I've been waiting for the day I can take over frontpage duty from Liberty specifically so I could feature this. MUHAHAHA! ALL MY PLANS HAVE BEEN REALIZED!

the mapping looks really good

I don't get why your character is so ignorant. EVERYONE at least knows about the bible and the concept of angels.
for a grown man to need this explain to him is absurd.

and it drives me crazy every time a person assumes if a god exists they HAVE to be good. there is no logic in that.
the term god does not apply to what a persons definition of good or bad is.

how the hell can she think all of these things is...just a joke?...how the hell did this idiot remember to eat and breathe?

the dialog of the characters just keeps getting more and more painful...your character said that the angel didn't look like one despite
1.it just told him that it cannot show its true form and the reason why
2.he does not know what angel is "supposed" to look like in the first place

the characters intelligence an way of thinking is one of the reasons i play games rather then go out and interact with people.
its just frustrating. with the lack of common sense and acceptance of reality these characters have.

as i was unable to bring myself to finish it the only thing i did like that i got to was the visuals of the game. while simple they looked really pretty.
the mapping was also well done.

Overall
i did not enjoy this experience. it was really frustrating for me.

In the game, I need an insect for the insect cage I got, and I seem to be stumped as to where to get it. Any help would be very much appreciated :D
Ah. I see the lock now, but it should really be more prominent. I thought all the dressers were identical when I first looked at them.
No worries, you're not the first person to get stuck on this puzzle. One of the dressers in the basement has a lock on it that the brass key will open. That will get you a crowbar which you can use to open the front gate.
I am feeling very dumb right now because I can't solve the first puzzle (how to open the gate). I have the brass key which I thought was for the dresser, but it doesn't do anything. Do I need to find, like, a hammer or something?
Thank you very much for letting me know about this. I wasn't aware of any issues with the MediaFire download so I'm going to look into it right away.
I'd like to play this, but it's freaking out my anti-virus program :/

Or that could have been something that got into MediaFire. But I thought you ought to know as there could be others who want to play but are being deterred by that.

Cool. Subbed. Might download.
I have several dozen games that I've downloaded and I'm trying to find time to play them all, so I feel your pain. I hope you get to play mine... someday!

The picture with the message in the sky sold me to try this lol...but
who knows when ill ever get around to playing it with 150 or so rpg maker games to go thru o.o
Yeah, it was meant to create some mixed feelings so I figured the reception would be equally... mixed. But I'm glad to hear the other aspects of the game were enough to get you through to the end. Thanks for playing and leaving some feedback, it's much appreciated!

Well that took about 3 hours to go through, which given the blurb is about average. It was interesting. Though I must admit the scientist = psychopath vibe really didn't appeal to me, at all. Still the writing was rock solid, the imagined world and character engaging enough to keep me playing. So thanks.
Cool Game! i played it for many days!
