Shippu la Senpu is an arcade shmup (shoot 'em up) under the top-down perspective. In Shippu la Senpu, you play as Ryuko Matoi, fighting hordes of COVERS enemies and of course the arch nemesis pair, Harime Nui and Kiryuin Ragyo. Aside from fighting the bad guys and collecting items as well powerups, you have to also protect your BFF Mako and the Naked Sun battleship who closely follow you and supply you with bombs every now and then. The goal is to survive for as long and gather as much score as possible.

There is a second playable character, but you will have to somehow unlock them.

Shippu la Senpu is a fanmade game adaptation of the anime show Kill la Kill made by Studio Trigger. We love the show, and since there was a Kill la Kill Game Jam over at Tumblr, we thought we should give it a try and make something up to pay tribute to one of our most favorite shows. It took quite a long time under development, but finally we're nearing completion. So here we go, Shippu la Senpu, an arcade shoot 'em up game about Kill la Kill.

  • Shippu la Senpu is available on both Windows and Mac.
  • Shippu la Senpu is collaboratively developed and presented to you by Clerya Games & Stron9est Studios.

Thank you, AnimeNEXT!

Hi, everyone, this is Sai! I've recently attended AnimeNEXT and had a great time as an artist, as well as showcasing Shippu la Senpu, a Kill la Kill themed shmup made by Clerya Games and stron9estudios. The objective of the game is to rack up as many points shooting up COVERS and surviving the bosses of the game, Nui Harime and Ragyo Kiryuin.

Pictured below was the booth I was at! It's blurry because I was so stoked, haha.

Along with playing the game, I included some prize tiers for players! It was a lot of fun doing a mini arcade at my table.

On Friday, a lot of people really struggled with facing Nui, but eventually we reeled in some players that were seasoned in shoot-em-ups come Saturday! An awesome Touhou veteran defeated both bosses and unlocked Satsuki with an impressive 26500 score; he definitely deserved prizes for that! From there 'til Sunday was anyone's game! Having Satsuki playable opened up a whole new world for high scores. The highest score all weekend was at 40530!

Players that frequented the booth were really astounded by the scores!

It was really amazing to see people pick up the game and give it a go, Kill la Kill fans and non-fans alike. Just about everyone enjoyed playing the game, and some even came back to play! This by far is one of the more interesting tabling experiences I've had, and I really want to thank the team for making a fun game, and for you players out there who gave Shippu la Senpu a whirl as well as feedback! And if you have anymore input but weren't able to give it to me during convention, please feel free to drop us a line. <:

ALSO, for those who stopped by my table and weren't able to grab any merch I had at my table, I will have my store updated with more stock this week! You can check everything out at the Paprika Carnival online store. My art partner-in-crime shunao also has some neat stuff at her online store!

I was making noodles today and I chose to let them overcook rather than stop playing... ^^;;;;

That's kinda the point ... /shot kidding XD

Yeah well, a fair amount of players have been asking me the same thing so we probably will add a pause screen in a near future. Thank you for playing!
After many tries, got 14760!

I swear Ragyo is almost impossible to defeat though Dx
Beat Ragyo! But then the game crashed shortly after for some reason... :/

It crashed again when I was playing it just now, but I think it might just be my computer since it stutters sometimes till I restart it. I'm not terribly sure :<

Because we need to be able to reproduce the problem so that we know where it comes from :< I'll try to look into it but I can't really promise anything. In any case my apologies for the crash.

No need to apologize, you made a great game. ^^ I'm confident I can beat Ragyo again.

If I were to have one complaint though, it's that your survival against the first boss fight depends too much on whether or not you got one or two stars. Nui is significantly more difficult if no star pickups appear prior.

Yes while I do think the stars play a very very important role during boss fights, I can guarantee you can still beat them with understanding of their patterns and the right usage of items, especially dynamites. You can do it!

Also just a question, kinda a spoiler for everyone else I guess, so I'll put it in Spoiler tag.
Even though the game crashed on you after beating Ragyo, did it still unlock Satsuki for you?

Mmk, I think I just need to get better at the game. :P Is it possible to do a no powerup run? :o That would be insane.

And to answer your question:
No ;-;

Yes that would be indeed insane ;-; although the chance of that is very slim anyway. You'll eventually find stars.
Oh, found a small bug that I'm certain is easily fixable. When I'm at low health and the heart thump sound effects start happening, when the naked sun blows up the sound still can be heard until the game is restarted.

And it looks like this game sometimes crashes upon my death especially whilst fighting Ragyo. I don't know if that's a coincidence or not.

Noted. Thank you for the feedback ^^

I've tested the game again and beaten Ragyo a couple times and I can't seem to reproduce the problem. So unfortunately as much as I regret it, there's not much I can do about that ;-;
Thanks for your work ^_^

Do I need to reinstall the game to get the new version? If so, will my progress and high score be saved?

Yes you will have to redownload the game for the update, sorry for the inconvenience. Your highscore will still be there.

Edit: Well, okay, I BEAT Nui just now, and managed to get all the way to Ragyo. And then... death. Oh lordy was there death.
Trials & Errors my friend :3c after a while Nui will be quite a joke really. The real deal is Ragyo!
