ALERT ON MISSING FILES:
Apparently, RMTool (a utility that scans your game and informs you of missing files), MISSED a file. Its not a problem though, just download this image:

and this one:

and put it in your RTP's "Backdrop" folder

A long time ago, before RM2K3 came out (Or at least I didn't know about it) I was making a game for myself for fun called Final Fantasy Dreams. It was a Text Adventure game I was making in C++. At the time I didn't know about RM2K or 2K3 and when I found out, it opened a whole new door for me.
Story
A mysterious cave which was located on the furthest reaches of the world. The very mention of the cave sparked the interest of every adventurer, every scientist, and every archaeologist. However, the cave refused
to accept visitors, for nobody ever came back. Except for one man who did. A man who came back blind and deaf, but able to speak, carrying a message...
Beware the man with the eye, and the voice, of God.
Immediately, the appearance of four "Crystal Towers" ended the "Whispering Cave" era. Until two friends decided to go to the place now called...

Systems
Steal System - Basically most FF's
Bushido System - FFX Style, WITH timers IN the DBS
Limit Break System - FF7 Style, More damage = Faster filling bars
Summon - FFX Style summon system with over 500 frame animations
Gil Toss System - Like FF5
Blue Magic - Kinda like FF9 and last but not least
Kamikaze System - FF8 Style.
Auto-Phoenix - As seen in FFX
Lots of sidequests and optional bosses, some of which the average player will never even find.
Conclusion
So you see, my main mission was not to make FF Fangame NO#58421, but rather to make a game as close as possible to the real (SNES) thing using the best from all systems.(To date I have never seen a fan game using all of this, maybe there are?)I could have used other characters but then, FF7 was my favorite.

i tried putting those 2 images into my rpg2003 rtp backdrop folder and it still didnt fix the problem can someone please help. it still crashes after the minotaur
author=Pdr313do you have rm2k3 runtime package installed? if not not get it from Here(Clickity). if you do have the RTP put those images in the directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterbrain\RPG2003\RTP\Backdrop" without quotes

Huh, it should work with this version of the game. if you PM me where you have your RTP installed and where you extracted your game; I should be able to figure it out for ya.

thnx i finally got it going i found thyat the rtp i dropped it into was one that was linked to another game installed the rtp for this was in another folder. thnk u veryu much

I followed your instruction and copy/pasted the two files in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterbrain\RPG2003\RTP\Backdrop
but game still crushes and I still get the same message.

I'm stuck in 1st Ice Cave under the 1st house in Nizbet, where a crystal blocking the way in. Have no idea how to bypassed it.

Could anybody point me to the treasure in the swamp. I dropped the stone into the water, and it said "something moved" I have red flashing, but been over the swamp again and again, but can't find it.
If anybody still on this forum, please help.
Another thing is I equipped Pry skill, but still can't open Red Chests.
Would really appreciate some help.

The switch simply removes the rocks blocking the exit at the other end of the bridge, making it possible to continue.
The red flash is probably indicating that the contents of the green chest (near the northern edge of that map) are awesome, so you should make sure to come back after acquiring the CHANT skill.

i hate ff fan games. people should create there own worlds not some cheesy knock off of a established series.
its a attention grab. a unforgivable act. even ignoring that the game still needs work.

what does testing tifas piano do? if it makes a sound its hard to notice with the music still playing

this games so stupid lol...using established characters yet there back storys dont really seem existant. cloud would NEVER tell tifa its to dangerous.
WTF how did we get from the south west island to the south west!? time skip? i was just outside town and cloud was like i forgot to speak tot eh village elder. so i went to go back into the village and i was in the endless forest. at the south east corner of the world map!
i hate the 2000-2003 engines item script. it sucks having all items together like this.
we got a ribbon this early in the game!? AND we cant equip it!? (wonder when i even obtained it)
the materia store in larva village (1st after start) when buying things the shop keep keeps saying welcome.
speaking of the materia store in general is slow

While i do not know how this happened once you leave the starting town and are ready for your journey . one of your characters says saying about forgetting to talk to the town leader/elder and i saved and tried to enter the town.
all a sudden i was in some forest. i thought it was weird but normal until i found out it was on the south eastern corner of the map!
so i have no idea what triggers it but saving randomly sent me to the lost forest (i could not replicate this at will)
