Early Xmas pressie from me to you.

Yes, the first build of AW has been released. At only 22mb, it is also the smallest game I have made for a 45min - 1 hour long game. And yes, it's complete. ^^

Simple, retro charm with battles that require some resource management and skill usage and an easy to follow story with a bit of a message towards the end ( I never do stuff like this, but oh well ).

Please note that I do not intend to extend this short series of games ( custom work is just too much work for one person ) and will be focusing exclusively on Tristian from here on.

The game, as it is with all my projects, is unencrypted. You need the VX RTP to run it.

I will be trying to make a let's play of this. It depends on how my capturing software treats me x'D.

Holy crap, nice! I'm going to be stuck by myself on Christmas so between this and Enelysion I've got something to do now.
Okay, I gave it a go.

There's an odd lag with the menus, like moving the cursor and selecting takes a noticeable pause before it does what it's suppose to. Maybe too many things updating? Might want to look at the scripts and see what's up.

Font's a little hard to parse at times. There's probably clearer sci-fi fonts you could use.

I rather like the PS4 style appear-on-the-enemies and attack. If all the enemies appear at the same y-coordinate, you could go the extra mile and have characters appear when firing guns too, to keep it consistent with PS4 style (plus it'd be super cool!)

Random encounters could use some tweaking. I had a moment in the first area that went walk 4 steps > encounter > walk 4 steps > encounter, repeat two more times.

Anyways, I went north to inside a building, made it a screen north, then wiped against a group of 3 different robots.
Ah, them good 'ol random encounters. Never easy to balance, are they? ( when I was testing, I walked through nearly an entire section and only got attacked once ><.)
As for scripting issues and fixing them, I'm no expert but I'll have a look. It could be due to one of the common events tied to the three 'upgrade' skills. Since it updates a variable every time one of those skills are used in battle.

But from me, a very merry Xmas to you all! :D
Well I've not experienced that lag, I think. Not even trying to record (but failed because of some issue with the sound --I don't want a silent LP! why OBS doesn't work on XP?? "orz).
I'm going to make a lot of LPs after new year. Because then I'll probably have my other PC. Where all works better.

I've started the game like 3 times already xD. The first time I died. The other 2 times were trying to do the LP. I started abusing the healing service <3. It takes some backtracking, but it's not that bad :V. And I kill everything I see, because for some reason I've NEVER ever achieved to escape any battle. And I tried multiple times, until both of my characters are dead. So instead of dying trying to escape, fight.

Music is lovely, but I sometimes miss a little something like this.

But anyway, I like this game >:3.

Wow, that was fast. I’ll have to give this one a try over the weekend. Thank god I still have my VX RTP somewhere on my computer still when I had to download it originally to play Enelysion all that time back. Good thing it's still there, though.

I expect somewhat to average great things.
Gawd, I really miss PS4's combination attacks though. I don't think I've seen any RM game emulate that game's entire battle system ( this was a game where you could already program pre-battle commands and imposed limited skill techs and had a whole plethora of animated foes; from the tiniest mook to the very big baddies. Yeah, Sega was ahead of their time back in '93-'94 ).
