Genre: Adventure, Psychological Thriller, Sci-Fi, Horror
Won 2009 Misao for Best Non-RPG.

Synopsis:
Welcome to the Vestel... an Earth-orbiting international space station. Built after the very recent WW3, it is the core of a program, led by Dr. Tamir Sarkis, that hopes to strengthen efforts in international bonding...
Yet, there must be sacrifices made for the sake of progress.

The story follows Selim Shirazi, a young biologist. When offered a chance to work on the prestigious Vestel, Selim readily accepts, as it is the career opportunity of a lifetime. But once onboard, Selim realizes the far-behind schedule project isn't what it advertised itself to be. The station itself is hardly a gleaming vision of human technological mastery, but rather a cramped, freezingly cold and somewhat decrepit hunk of metal. Selim falls severely ill his first night, and becomes alienated from most of the crew, who are all only focused on their work--after all, if the project is a success, it is an instant climb to fame and riches. As his illness spirals out of control, Selim has a bizarre series of nightmares and experiences, yet through these, Selim discovers a trail of mysteries behind the station's many locked doors. While avoiding the watchful eye of Dr. Sarkis, Selim must quickly learn who to trust to unlock the secrets at the heart of the Vestel.

Combining elements of sci-fi, surrealism, exploration, horror, drama, and adventure, Muse is a cinematic and atmospheric journey with a detailed cast of characters and a complex plot. Gameplay is based upon a classic adventure game style. The game itself draws influence from The Longing Ribbon, Pangaea Chronicles, Desert Nightmare, Backstage, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Monkey Island and Ender's Game.

Original Soundtrack

Hey everyone, even though this may be old news to some, I figure I might as well make an official announcement as the loose ends of Muse begin to tie up. Those of you who have been keeping up with the page may have wondered why my name mysteriously appeared as a developer just a few months ago.... well, here's the official announcement. I have joined up with Team Cascade to write an entirely original soundtrack for Muse. Every track in the game will be composed (and in some cases, performed) by yours truly, which will come out to about 20 tracks and 30+ minutes of music. All the tracks will be high quality mp3 with an overall dark and ambient atmosphere. I will be releasing the soundtrack simultaneously with the game's release (TBA.... soon) so that you can download it and put it on your iPod or whatever you so choose to do with it. :D

I'll probably also include a bonus track or two containing some commentary relating to the thought process behind the various tracks to help give a deeper understanding of the soundtrack as a whole and how it relates to the game. If you're wondering whether or not you can use the tracks in your game, well, I haven't talked it over with AznChipmunk yet, but the way I see it, I can't stop anyone from using the tracks and I have a habit of using tracks from games like Final Fantasy in my own games, so for me to say you can't use my Muse soundtrack would be hypocritical. In fact, I would be honored if people used my music, I only ask that you do not re-name the original files so that anyone interested in tracing the mp3 back to its source will have no trouble doing so.

And lastly, for those of you who are saying "WTF, who is DigitalMonk?" there's a semi-old thread on the forums that has some of my work.... I don't mean to sound cocky, but it's looking like the Muse soundtrack is going to blow those old demos clear out of the water. http://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/6371/
My goal is to make a professional quality soundtrack for Muse. Stay tuned.

Look at me with my lighter comment box woo. New gamepage is cool. It's pretty much done now!
Gotta love the CSS Skin guys :D
whoa now Ness and tardis have lighter comment boxes too
Please finish this game you dirty peasant.
Why did it have to end with me not knowing anything? :(
I ran the fontpatch included with the game, and now all of my RM2k 2k3 games have no font at all. I tried re-installing the RM fonts manually with no success. Any idea why this would happen?
Who is this mysterious Malad.
Uhhhh he has been around quite a while but never posts on the forums.

Let me say the opposite of what the RM community always says about everything.

This game needs a SLOWER walk speed.

I am very serious.

I really like this game (review in T-Minus) but I think it is silly that it won the Misao or any award since there is only about ten to twenty minutes of game here. (I mean, the demo does END when the creepy shit happens in the bathroom...right? That's not just a game over?)
:( Slower walk speed.... And yes it ends there. That's not a game over. I would've made a game over more obvious about being a game over.

Review'd.

I only touched on this in the actual review, but there is info available on the gamepage (WWIII, a sketch of Selim's backstory, and the purpose of the Vestel) that should probably be available within the game proper.
Yeah, that is because there was a lot of reworking of plot details and fleshing out of backstory, etc. after the demo release!

Thanks though, that is inspiring.
