Oh hai, everyone!

For the last four years or so, I've been intermittently working to reproduce the aesthetic of the NES Final Fantasy games in RPG Maker. I have done this across four platforms, and have run into innumerable false starts as I inevitably cannot gets the battles to look how I want them to. With MV, I think I've finally broken past that, and though things are still a far cry from how I envision them, I'm finally at a point now where I can commit to finishing a game I started. Thus the game page.

Final Fantasy: Immortal is planned as an epic-but-compact fan game, based around the concept of a world first discovering the power of the crystals, their awesome control over the forces of the elements but also their destabilizing effects, whenever the crystals shine brightest war is always near. If I had to describe the theme of the game it'd be 'early days', invoking both the story and play concepts of the original game, while borrowing from other games and making changes wherever I desire.

I plan on migrating some of this information to the game description, but for the moment I will put here some features I have planned here.

-8-bit graphics, music, and sfx, for those of you who love 'the retro'.
-Original fanon setting, the world of Spiral.
-FF1-style character selection and mid-game promotions.
-Magic shops.
-No 'Vancian' magic system, MP will be used.
-No random encounters! Why? Because I hate them!

On a final note, this game serves as a proof-of-concept for what I vaguely envision as an 'Retro Final Fantasy Creation Kit'. I've tried to be pesky about reminding people I'm always happy to share my resources, and ideally I'd like to release something that allows people to make the same kind of game that I did.

Games I've ripped from include all three NES FF games, FFA, all three Saga games, Startropics, Silva Saga, both Dragon Quest Monsters games, and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Scripts included are authored by

-Victor Sant
-Yanfly
-Hime
-Ventiqu
-Sansuke KANNAZUKI
-Moogle X

Finally, I took some subtle rips (about five castle tiles) from Commissar_Thule, I can't reach the Commissar but have tried to get the ok on this. If Der Commissar's in town, uh-oh, PM me!
