The full version is out on sale!!
You can buy the Windows and Mac versions from either itch.io or Gamejolt.

It’s finally here! The full version of Fear & Hunger. After two years of development time the game is finally at a state that can be called a full game. It has been no easy two years by any stretch. As a solo developer behind this game, it has taken its toll on my social life and my wallet. And that is one of the reasons I’m going commercial with this game now. The world of Fear & Hunger begs for more content and I wish I could continue expanding the lore and its world with future installments with similar commitment of time and resources.

The previous demo version already offers a large portion of what the full version has in store, but I’d estimate that the full game is roughly double the size and even the previously existing areas are tweaked and updated with this release. The game has new enemies, new characters, new magic and skills, new gameplay additions, plenty of new areas, more story, more lore, more everything. There are 5 distinct and different endings. Even more if you count some character specific variations. The game keeps up with its grueling difficulty and some of the bosses that are waiting for the poor souls that dwell too deep are the biggest challenges in the game yet.

I will continue with Fear & Hunger for sure. There are bound to be loads of bugs to fix at the very least, but I also plan on tweaking things once I get a better idea on the overall reception of the game and what needs balancing and what needs to be more difficult. In any case, I hope the game is worth the wait for all of you!

I had no idea this game was so close to release! Its aesthetic look absolutely amazing, although I'm not sure I'll be able to handle the gruesome, explicit violence and hard as nails difficulty it promises.

Yaaay! :D

Now go make a million dollars!
Wow, congrats! This really came a long way :)
@orange-, Congratulations!

@Erilex, the difficulty isn't that blistering. Honestly, the difficulty curve is 100% just the process of learning how to play. If you can do a souls game, you can do this. That said, there is hella implicit / explicit sexual horror, a significant bit of violence, and some Junji-Ito-grade body horror. And some existential horror as well.

If something like reading Berserk doesn't reach your "nope, too much" threshold, you will very likely be fine. Otherwise, you may want to go with caution.
Yeah Dark Souls and Berserk comparisons are pretty accurate I think. The full version gives players more options to fight, so there is even less of random one-hit kills in the game than before. I'd say you can evade all of such annoyances if you know what you are doing. So I feel like the gameplay is in balance.

Gore and other nasty stuff however cannot be entirely evaded I'm afraid D: Personally I think there is actually less nasty stuff later in the game, but I don't know if I just got more used to it to the degree that I didn't pay attention to it anymore or if there really is less of it.

But yeah thanks everyone !!
There's definitely less sexual horror later in the game. There's still some, but you can go longer stretches without running into it.

Overall, the intensity of the horror decreases as you get more gear / companions, since the game is less able to do just wantonly do stuff to you when you've got the equipment needed to murder a god.

Also, @orange-, I think my mailbox is glitching out. It's been showing one unread message for weeks now, even though I've read every message that shows up. If I haven't responded to one of your messages, let me know. That'd probably mean something got lost in the glitch.
@kumada, yeah the mailbox is glitching on me too. I got 4 unread messages at all times :D We need to start a new chain.

But yeah the intensity eases up a bit with the new areas. This is partly intentional too, because I felt the game needed a bit of contrast in the atmosphere. Every now and then the game still reminds the player what they really are playing. Especially by the end of the true ending. Also @kumada, I tweaked few of the bosses thanks to your feedback and I think they are pretty intense now.
Oh, huh. I *thought* some of my messages were going missing. Yeah, let's get a new message chain going and I'll see if I can ask someone to unglitch things.

Congrats, man! Like, seriously! I wonder if it's just in time for the awards?

Awards? :O Honestly the game is niche even in the RPG Maker scenes, so I'm not expecting much :D

Congrats on the release! I for one like that you stuck with explicit nudity. It makes the game more interesting. Good luck with getting rm games to new audiences!

And unfortunately commercial games can not be nominated for Misaos.

Yeah the explicit content is definitely part of this game's identity at this point. I'm glad to spread the joy of RPG Maker to elsewhere too :D I've had many people come to me and suggesting that I move onto other platforms, but my roots are tied to RPG Maker pretty firmly and I kinda dislike the general consensus of a 'child's toy' the engine has.
