It's glowing time!

Hello people!
We're here to talk about Glow, a game that is no longer available from the outdated link here. But you can still download and play it clicking here to visit Sabao's page on itch.io!

Glow is a Stencyl game made in less than a month for the 2013 De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Multimedia Arts Festival by Amiel Suarez, Allen Silva, Xu Wei, Kat Langomez, Neil Co and Ryan Canteras, and can be defined as a puzzle/platform game. We play as a Medusozoan, a little alien that looks like a jellyfish and is named The Apprentice. Heis following his Master in a pilgrimage through the galaxy, that clearly has some dangers and our hero has a... grappling gun!

In this platform in fact we've to follow the Master to the end of each level, the Apprentice can jump and use a grapple gun to move around, latching onto star fragments to reach otherwise unreachable places, and certain star bits also allows making star chains (and reach much further), The game is pretty short and will take just 20-25 minutes to be completed, but for something made for an event with this simple concept, it's pretty ok I guess!

The monster is approaching! Master! Help meeeeeeee!!!

Aestetically I can say that this is a simple but stylish game, it's pretty simple but nice to look at and it compensate the lack of dialogues and story, in fact there isn't a single line of dialogue or writing here. Characters are practically transparent (like jellyfishes) with white outlines, the background is dark blue and there is the use of other colors like green, red and yellow, but all is very simple and very pretty.
Music is pretty nice, and I guess it was original since it was not familiar to me, but I cannot confirm or deny this, in any case it was pretty much appropriate and well done.

Final Verdict
Glow is a simple but really nice platform, and its only flaw is probably the fact that it's very short, but I can judge this fairly since I can consider it an event game, moreover making it longer would have also made it a little boring without the introduction of some other features. So I guess it's pretty ok as it is, just do not expect something that will entertain you for hours, but it's a competently made little game!
