Goku vs. Piccolo

The first miniboss of the game - Piccolo. You get to fight him as Goku, before the fight with Raditz. This part of the game serves as sort of a "learn to play" tutorial, with Goku learning his basic battle skills and the player getting some info on each one of them versus various enemies. In this instance, Piccolo "teaches" the player how to defend.

I'm sorry, but this is fucking awesome.

You're doing an amazing job and this is really only the one game I can't want to be completed and actually enjoy seeing progress on.

Please keep up the good work and you have me in your corner if you need a tester or reviewer.
Nice. The sound balance is a bit off. I would suggest trying to get some kind of lock on or strafing feature. Having to walk away then turn around to attack, especially if the enemy keeps advancing, can get very tedious. The dash and semi-teleport skills are good, but keeping your facing would be pretty sweet.

I actually just noticed it about the sound as well, re-watching the video. It doesn't sound as bad in-game for some reason, but I definitely want to do some sound-work, mainly getting all new sounds that are all on the same "style" (I like the GBA sound quality for this). Right now some of the sounds are GBA or SNES-ish, and some of them are more modern sounding, and that inconsistency is a little weird to the ear. So yeah. Will work on that. :)

About the facing, I agree that it's a little awkward to turn around a lot during a 1v1 fight. I need to find a solution for this, also considering the fact that in most fights you face several enemies from all around you. Maybe I'll add a strafing system just for 1v1 boss fights.

It turned out to be so cool that there's no chance I'm gonna let Goku learn it before training with King Kai. Maybe I'll put it in the demo as a cheat tho. ;)
That's a good idea. Is it a set distance you travel? It would be great if you held the button down to choose how far back you go. And maybe if you level it up you move faster during the dash, and eventually do a teleport back. After King Kai, of course ha

That's one solution, but look at the high end dbz games for inspiration. If you were to create a lock on system, where you can cycle the target, so that you are always facing your locked on target. And if you want full control then you wouldn't lock on. That would be the total package solution.
It's not set, you keep going as long as you hold the button.

A targeting system could be cool, I think I might look into it!
