In 19th century Europe an impoverished young man finds himself drawn into an elaborate societal conspiracy as he struggles to support himself and his sister.

The gameplay consists of two main parts; complex character and environment interaction lending an almost "sandbox"-like feel, and an action-based battle system which tests both the player's reflexes and tactical thinking.
