So is RMN, apparently! And today I wanted to give a brief update on this project of old.
Where oh where have the years gone? It was 7 years ago that Crescent Prism Chapter 1 was released, soon to be abandoned in the summer of 2019 due to scope creep, a messy development, and overall losing control of the project. But it was not the end of us!
After the release of Astra Hunter Zosma and not wanting to leave what was going to be our biggest game unfinished, we decided to begin Crescent Prism again in the second half of 2024. The game is now slowly being rebuilt (after a sudden year-long hiatus shortly after we started, due to some real life complications), with refreshed assets, music, and an engine upgrade: The game has moved from RPG Maker VX Ace to RPG Maker MZ to make it more flexible and to take advantage of the capabilities that MZ has over Ace.
With RMN back in action, I'm hoping to revamp or remake this gamepage in the near-ish future to detail some of the changes and visual upgrades that the game has undergone. Here's a small preview of what we've got going on:
I'll have more to share before long! In the meantime, the best place to get updates about the game is on the Torch60 Bluesky, as well as my everyday account on there.
While I do not have nearly as much time to devote to game projects as in the my heyday, game development still continues to be a fun hobby that I can go back to on the weekends. Hopefully Crescent Prism will be the project that we always dreamed of.
