As the Storyteller of the ACE Chronicles Series, it appears that the burden is upon me to retelling tales of various characters throughout time, space, and dimensions, and even tie in parallel universes and alternate realities.

Sadly, I must remain incognito as part of protocol.

PS3 vs 360

laptops are too bulky and warm for a 3-5 mins jaunt to the loo.
You are fast. I always end up sitting there for 15-20 minutes if I bring the DS in with me.
Is that because you need to be there, or is it because you brought the DS?
DS.

Not in my case. Mine ranges from 10 minutes if I have a good one, to 30+ if it got much uglier than I expected... even if I didn't bring anything with me. I mostly use the PSP, and mostly play Patapon 2 with it. The results were good. In rare cases, I use the laptop if I still need to look up stuff.

PS3 vs 360

*raises a sword with a broken blade* A player of 3 consoles in here as well... But now it's two, since my probably first-gen Wii (the white one) died on me... probably the power supply gave out. Then again, I played the Game Boy systems, the GameCube, and Xbox in the past, and currently using the Nintendo DS and DSi, PSP, PS3 (older-gen, definitely not first-gen), and 360 (first/older-gen, has died on me and warranty-serviced twice).

But then, the PS3 and 360 are competing. I go for the PS3 for its free network service, download of PS1 classics, PSP connection, and Blu-ray capability. The 360 carries the more interesting series such as Halo and Mass Effect, the partial backward compatibility with it's predecessor (unlike the more recent generations of PS3), and greater emphasis on the analog stick on the controller layout.

The Customer Is Always Right - Perception Of Designer & Player "Responsibilities" In Amateur & Commercial Video Games

Heh... it seems it's a tough crowd. But I'm ok with it, even though I really am inexperienced. It takes one to know one, so that includes me, especially when I come up against games that are more unforgiving than my counter-insults. I can't give out names, since I have a hard time remembering them.

The Halo series is the most memorable case I have. Sometimes in fighting alone in Legendary, there's always a surprise that caught me off-guard. In the first game, there's a Flood that came with a Rocket Launcher... never had it coming when a rocket flew right at me. Second... er... gets very ugly when surrounded in a small space. Third, beam rifles... need I to ask more? That, or a kamikaze grunt that came out in the most inopportune of moments. ODST makes a point that being a sniper is a better way to take out unshielded enemies. Reach... erm... with new weapons, I get treated with more explosions around me, not the other way around.

In all, it is frustrating to do Legendary alone. It gets too much that I needed to take a long break and make a new strategy. I even get headaches trying to fight in the same area for the 30th time or more. The controlled face more abuse with the dirt from my hands (even though I did wash my hands. the skin must have worn out raging through baddies left and right.).

It may not seem much, but I'm making a point that people can blow out from frustration, and everyone has their own levels of tolerance. But from what I hear... they must have little time playing them.

Anyone would like to shift my opinion on a different angle? I'm always in the uncanny gray, so indecisive; never judging things so black-and-white...

RPG 20XX Engine

By the looks of it, progress seems to be very promising. With a program like this, I would like to see it surpass beyond 2k and 2k3 versions, and to me, time never matters, so I will wait, even if it may take years. Once the engine is more stable than the 2k3 or rivals that of the newer ones, I might try my hand into it and make a test game out of it.

But for now, I'll just use the others. With lack of understanding in programming and still learning in development, I can't just dive into the pool of information; I don't know how to swim in it, anyway.

Yes. The fundamental hardware never changed besides die shrinks and adding additional hardware that wouldn't have an adverse effect on playing PS1 games. I don't know if PS1 playback on the PS3 is perfect (see the FFAnthology on the PS2 for rare and minor issues with PS1 playback on the PS2). If a game doesn't work it's more likely due to issues with reading the disk (damaged read surface or shitty laser, take your pick!) than issues with playing that particular game.

I see... It's similar to playing Xbox games on a 360. There's bugs on some games I played in (made playing some split-screen multiplayer games difficult to do). Too bad I left behind my games in the past. Then again... most or all my games are pirated ones at that time, so I... uh... right... probably not safe to do.

I am still reconsidering my choice, even though I made the screenshot that now fits the theme, since my senses cry out that something's wrong in mine... and I doubt that there's a guy in a red and white striped shirt in there; my eyes are still ok, I think.

Once my doubts are cleared, I'll submit it.

Correct. They never removed the PS1 hardware (or emulator, I'm not sure how it does it). The PS2 on the other hand was taken out.

But then, since I have played the PS1 games in the past decade... Does it work on both PS1 models? After wondering why one of my games failed to work in the PS1 is that I had the original PlayStation console (with custom firmware installed in it, but I was too young to comprehend that) that reads the usual PS discs with a shiny surface. But one day, I purchased a game, but realized that its readable surface is black. That actually confused me as I have made attempts to make it read... Despite my then age, I was a competent player that reaches the amateur/casual skill tier (Got through Armored Core: Master of Arena story missions, finished games that are considered too easy by experienced ones, etc.), but not this.

Several years later, I received a PSOne and a few games. I noticed that they all have the black surface, and the console is a bit... roundish and smaller. That's when I found out. Technology apparently got the upper hand on me with a later-generation console.

In short, could the PS3 read both generations of the first PS?

Perfect, the post was edited successfully with a screenshot that should fit the theme.

There we go.

This should fit at the best of my knowledge...

Introduction

That's pretty nice when I thought about it... I'm only a former high band musician who was unfortunate enough to be the assigned to an instrument section alone in the second year. (the musicians on my first noted that one year's enough for them... especially with our band director.)

I've been trying my hand with composing MIDI, and makes me feel glad that there are others who are more proficient in music... T-T
