Tales Of Astrenia - 1st, 2nd & 3rd Chapter
Well, Crystalgate ... I really can't say too much at this stage because I don't want to give out spoilers.
All I can say is this : Yes, the elements of the story mentioned in the game's summary WILL be a part of the story. But the overall story of this game will be a mixture of different themes and this is just one of those.

Romance / Friendship System
The gift giving element will only be a very small part of the Romance / Friendship system. It won't involve giving repeated gifts over and over again, (For example, spiky haired male gives red haired hottie 5 golden bracelet within one hour.)
What I plan to do is this : First of all, the gift will only be accepted if the person who has been offered that gift likes you enough. (So, if you've been treating a certain Party Member like crap for pretty much the entire game, your gift will be refused.)
Secondly, altough there are various gifts you can offer, each party meber only has certain gifts that you can give them. (Like how in real life, if someone hated chocolate, they wouldn't accept a box of Thorntons)
This is how it will work: once character Y's affection rating for Character X is high enough, the only way that you will be able to raise it any further is to give them something special. So you will only be able to give gifts to that character at certain times, and it will only be a once a game event.

Sample music from 'Tales Of Astrenia - Chapter 1 (2) (UPDATED)
Thanks for the post, Addit.
Indeed, this is my first game. (Well, at least the first game I didn't decide to scrap that is !!) I appreciate your advice and I understand that some gamers have an issue with BGM from well known games appearing in RPG Malker Games. However, two of the best RPG Maker games I've ever played (Master of The Wind and Love and War Act 1) both have various music tracks from lots of well known films, games and anime. (For example, Love and War has quite a few tracks from Xenogears and Master of the Wind has plenty of tracks from lots of well known anime and games.)It's just a fact that lots of RPG Maker programmers use these tracks in their games.
However, the above comments are just my opnion and I understand that I can't expect everyone to agree with my point of view. Everyone has their own unique way of making their games and that's part of what makes the RPG Maker community so diverse and unique.
