Need help with skill system
Need help with skill system
Im trying to make a skill tree system where the player can choose what skills to learn. One of the skills I'm having a hard time making is a passive skill that if the player chooses to learn it, that it checks to see when the player has a shield on, it adds an additional 10 DEF on top of what the shield would normally give, and if the player takes the shield off, it takes off the 10 DEF.
I tried doing conditional branches, variables, and a parrallel process common event to check if the player has a shield equipped, but every time he has it equipped, his DEF goes all the way up to 999 because of the common event in a parallel process. any ideas? Im using RM2k3 btw.

The straight up BEST Final Fantasy
I think my favorite FF storyline-wise was definitely FF IV. It had a badass main character (Dark Knight turned Paladin! What now bitches) as opposed to pussy ass, wuss protagonist in FF X with an even worst cast of "colorful" characters... Man Tidus was such a faggle. Plus FF IV had people dying left and right, and come back to life to kick major ass.
FF5 Classes were a welcome change.
FF6 was dope. Badass cast of characters.
FF7 had the best gameplay. I must have spent like 150+ hours on that game.
FF8 would have been good if it wasn't for random things that didn't make sense.
FF9 was awesome. I love the art style and classic look to it, plus the storyline was pretty good.
FFX I could not stand to play it just because of Tidus... what a faggle!
FF XII Didn't get to into it dragged on with no progressand because the main character dressed like a girl and ... but at least he didn't act like one (*cough Tidus).

Yeah I pretty much took the same concept and applied it here. I was even thinking about making an Alchemy system also.
Action RPGs
I believe Action RPGs mean no transition to a battle event... just a normal hack and slash (i.e. Secret of Mana) while still keeping stats into play. Regular RPGs on the other hand usually transition into a battle scene (i.e. Final Fantasy).
At least that's what I think.

Help, my game.... It Died :'(
Lucadia
Soooo close to putting out a demo... just have to polish some things.
Damn, I knew I shouldn't have made my first game an epic.

Worst videogame character.

No. I hate tidus because he's a fucking wuss, has a shitty hairdo, FAGGOT clothes and is a pussy.
Wow that is 100% truth right there. He is probably the worst hero in a FF series. God I wanted to punch the tv every time he spoke.
Resource Museum
Well here's the best place to find whatever you need for RM2K3. You can also find some of the resources there for XP and VX I believe.
