Why is the symbol for "dog" on the wolf's head?
He's a Wolfdog. He has the symbol for Wolf and Dog on either side of his head. It's part of the story.

All of the Secret of Mana graphics you see were ripped by me over the summer last year. Instead of mixing and matching graphics together, I wanted the graphical scheme to be constant. I'm even making my own graphics for it in the same style.
And yes, the overworld theme is from Princess Mononoke. Love that movie.
