What's Your Favorite Anime? Is it Okay to Ask This???

author=Jeroen_Sol
I just started watching Erased, and damn is it worth bumping this thread over. It's been a while since I watched anime, as most new shows aren't really the genre I like, but Erased is already shaping up to join Death Note and Code Geass in my 'anime I hold in really high regard' list. And I've only watched three episodes. It's got that golden combination of psychological elements, a unique superpower and a modern setting.
Wow I completely forgot about this,anyway, right now I'm watching Hunter x Hunter(2011) and I'm on episode 70. It's really good, especially Hisoka and Killua, they're the reason I watch HxH!

[Poll] Would you like to play a game like Spyro?(The ps1 titles)

I never said I was going to make a Spyro game, I never said the main character would be a dragon, I just wanted to know how the community perceived Spyro.
Do what? Then why didn't you just make a Spyro appreciation thread in the videogames subforum?

Oh, I never thought of that! hehe

"Please give me advice on gam mak, but only the advice I want to hear and not the advice I really should listen to."
Like I said, nevermind.I never said I was going to make a Spyro game, I never said the main character would be a dragon, I just wanted to know how the community perceived Spyro.
@eplipswitch
However, that doesn't sound like a bad idea.

@Sooz
I only asked because I just wanted to know.

Okay then, I'll make the game first.

Do you have the spritework you need? Not that I'd be able to help, but that's kind of important if you want to make a fangame of an already established IP.

No, but I'll figure it out, however, I wasn't talking about a fangame of Spyro, just a game inspired by it, heavily.

That's the thing though, you don't really have any solid plans, assets, or experience to make anything like Spyro.

You need to start reeaaaallllly small for your first project and go from there.

edit: I know this isn't your first project, but you cancelled/hiatus your original game, which I think you should try and stick to. Or work on something that isn't going to overwhelm you.

That was actually my second game, which was just a test, so I didn't really plan anything out. Also, I realized that I need to make something that I can easily make a story out of(and likeable characters), so yeah.....

Cyber you should probably just decide what kind of game you want to make, and make it, and then see how people like it and revise as needed.

Trying to design the most favorable game according to what other people say is just going to lead to a wishywashy, lukewarm mass, because games (like most art) work best when the creator is personally invested in the work.

I personally like Spyro, so I would consider myself personally invested in making it, if I could make it work.

How old do I have to be to sell my game commercially?

And yet you could not find the answer to an extremely simple question? What kind of research skills are they teaching kids these days?!

I wasn't sure where to look, and by the way I can't tell if that's supposed to be an insult or not. Either way, I don't really care.
