Creation Custom Crafts: Craving Criticism

It's been almost 8 months since I've posted something here, holy!

As usual, what I'm really looking for is criticism to improve my ''craft''.

Some icons:

The first three are the weapons I have in mind for the first demo while the last one is the first of three armors.

Would you have any funny ideas for some unusual armor? I want to stay away from the usual leather armor, chain mail, etc...

I realize the weapons are pretty cliché but I don't really have any good ideas for original weapons at the moment. Any ideas anyone?

Some character for Slimongo (it moves slower in game):

The faceset for the same character:

If you don't like something, I would appreciate if you could point out what you dislike so that I can fix it.

Thanks!

I agree with Lockez about deleting some rows but aside from that the screen looks fantastic, Feld, a lot of ambiance. Well done.

Killer Wolf, massive improvement. Lovin' the pixel art.

But at least I'm open-minded enough to try another french game (although it could exactly end like Aëdemphia).
I don't think there's such a thing as a ''French game''. I've visited plenty of communities worldwide and I believe there are games made by people, period. French is a language spoken in many countries with their own respective culture, speaking a certain language doesn't define the kind of game, that's something I take for granted. There's no such thing as: French games=X, English games=Y, etc...

This being said, Sarcia is an adventure game, not a rpg, this itself makes it completely different from Aëdemphia.

@Ness: It is short and it's big (oops over 100 MB). To download or not to download, that is the question ;).

I enjoyed the gameplay though, but also find the story somewhat complicated without being grabbing but it's the characterss I disliked mainly, extremely blah. I do find it quite overrated by the Oniromancie community

I agree about the characters, I think they were kind of bland and character design wasn't really to my liking. I disagree that it's overrated though. Aëdemphia is nothing short of phenomenal as far as rpg maker projects go and I have yet to see someone invest so much time in polishing a game like Sylvanor does. The game deserves all the attention it's getting and more.

Did you do this, s_w? The characters on screen are rather heterogeneous but look great. I'm genuinely curious :).

Anyhow, the game I posted about earlier, Sarcia, has released a demo. The good news is that the game is in... English! Which means all of you guys can try it out! Better warn you though, it's pretty big in size. Click the picture to download. Sorry for posting this here, I'm trying to convince the author to create a profile here!

The Screenshot Topic Returns

Creation, do you ever share stuff for our community with them? I like the idea of cultural exchanges!

Nope, never actually happened on my end. I think saw Darken's screen before and a few others posted by other members but not by me.

I forgot a few last time actually. This is my personal selection from another member's favorite projects (Monos).

In bold title of the game.
Follows the name of the author.
In italic my comments.

Dominia by Troma
Troma has been at RPG Maker for quite a while and to be honest her first attempt at custom kind of sucked I thought. It's great to see a member progress so much in her art.

Gold Fever by Karreg
This is probably one of my favorite project graphic wise. It's crisp and fresh and a nice little mix of Zelda/Earthbound. I've shown screens of this before but really, it's that good.

Tumbleweeds by Vancleff
An adventure game taking place in the far west. Not much has been revealed about the project since, apart perhaps for scenes of nudity.

@supremewarrior:
None of the games were done by me, which is why mentioned the authors of each respective screen in bold ;).

As for the demos:
Roi of the Suisse has released a demo for Kujira no Hara. It is available here.

Sylvanor has released various demos for Aëdemphia. The latest (9.4) is available here.

As for the rest, no demo.

I did forget Sarcia, by Kaelar.
Prepare to have your goddamn brains liquified:

Check those two videos, trust me, it's worth it:

This is superb. It's oozing with style and personality with a hint of the 1960s movie advertisement.

Some of the best recent screens from Oniromancie (it had been a while):
From Thanos:
Those screens a reminiscent of good old fashioned European comic books.

From Daxter:

From Al Rind:

From Wanoklox:

From Rockmik:

From Troma:

Le Cornu:

From Jikaz:

From Bambi:

Giving Feedback: Pass or Fail

Thanks NicoB. You should watch it, you're wrong in your impression. Omnium Project didn't fare so well however.

Giving Feedback: Pass or Fail

Could someone embed the videos for backstage II, Forever's End, Crystalis and Omnium project please? I'm having a hard time with my phone.

my name in lights

Hard work pays off, well done!

Damn, knowing you'd become rich and famous, I would have harvested sweet penny out of you for that tablet XD!
