RMN v4.3 approaches! Command?

I don't think Creation was talking exclusively about blogs but more like in a general sense regarding "quality control". Heartache 101 doesn't always generates "actual discussion", half of the time is just casual conversation between the same handful of users. Besides, due to the nature of the game even some of the legitimate discussion seem utterly masturbatory superfluous. I mean, it's mostly talk about imaginary animu girlfriends... but that's besides the point.

The thing is... Remember when Heartache 101 was every week on the front page in the 'Latest download' section? Well, apparently that got fixed and they could no longer exploit that. But with the buzzing mechanic in place they started pumping "actual discussion" in that 'Custom Content' tab of theirs generating loads of artificial buzz on a regular basis. That tab alone was like a bazillion pages long until recently when it got axed in favor of two other different tabs...

Now, I can't prove if any of this was intentional. This is mostly just speculation on my part. But I find it very suspicious and it wouldn't surprise me if there is in fact even the slightest intent to 'game the system' coming from them. Not really unlike to those people who blog a lot or post tons of images of their games in hopes to catch some attention... A stricter "quality control" around these parts should come in handy to discourage all those kinds of dubious behaviors.

Pretty much, yeah.

Tweaked in what sense?

Sorry for the late reply. Perhaps give less and less ''importance'' to comments made by the users who post over and over again about a certain game? Wouldn't that fix the issue of having people buzzing their way on the front page by a group of people.

Or perhaps the option not to ''buzz'' certain aspects of a game? That way, Marrend and Inc. could have hundreds of pages of conversation about custom content without constantly hogging the front page with buzz. Important:I'm not saying they do it on purpose, but there's certainly more to rmn than heartache 101.net.

Creation Custom Crafts: Craving Criticism

Thanks!

@yuhikaru:
About the portrait, I'm not sure how you want to progress. The only things I have to say is that the face is pretty good, but the hair looks like just one color. I'd say it needs more contrast, since it looks strange against the detailed skin, and the face has a darker outline while the hair doesn't. Also, I feel like she should have hair behind her neck too.

Better?:

I need a tophat ;_;

I took about 10 minutes to sprite this, using SnowOwl's (?) reference:

I hope it helps, it's a bit wonky in a Burton sort of way.

Not sure what you mean by looking snapped. Could you point out exactly what it is which is wrong exactly?

Good point on the walking animation, Caz. I'll look at this once I'm done with the other walking animations.

Good point about the hair yukiharu (drop by more often!).

So I'd like to replace the stat names (i.e. strength and so on) with icons so I'm kind of brainstorming at the moment. Keep in mind that this is for Slimongo so that's why some elements are oriented towards oriental stuff.

Defence stat:

So do you have any ideas? Things you like, dislike? Do you prefer animated or static? Share your thoughts.

Don't feel sorry, the buzzing system still needs to be tweaked in the sense that you can have a couple of people passing the ball back and forth to constantly bring the same games on the front page. I'll demonstrate this abuse shortly with a couple of buddies..

Thank you

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's worthless but some quality control would certainly be nice regarding blogs at www.heartache101.net. Man, where's that old debate we had about blogs when you need it.

Also irratating: machine gun blogging.

Thanks, chana.

I also forgot to share my smileys for rmn.net.

Thanks Chana, any comments about the anatomy?
