I really like this shot, lots of ambiance, well done.

+:
-the entrance rug (?) looks nice.
-Galbadia Hotel sign looks cool.
-The white line looks good.
Things that could be improved imho:
-The contrast for the road is pretty harsh, it attracts too much attention which is not something you want a road to do. Maybe desaturate it a bit.
-The graphics are heterogenous and don't match. The barrier seems to be PA but the lampposts, trashcan and manhole seem to have been drawn (or are RTP). Either go PA or traditional but mixing both is generally not a good idea.
-The sides of the column are reaallllly straight. It seems like you took some texture and tried to twist it around to take the shape of column but it doesn't look good.
-There's no shadow under the sign or that golden thing on top. This gives the impression that they are floating in the air instead of being part of the building.
-I don't know why you put those decoration things next to the windows but they end below the window?
-The columns on the wall on top look really, really out of place. It's pretty obvious they're meant to be on the ground. I hope you'll change them or tweak them so that they're fitting into the wall.
-Thore orange bas reliefs look really out of place/heterogenous compared to the other elements.
Generally speaking, the main issue with this map is the various ressources don't blend well with each other.
-Those RTP rubbles need to go, they look like stack of silver (or recolor it).
My detective guy continues his investigations. Edited by Cupcake:

I'd say it's looking better than the previous map:

You can blame the staff only so much for the lack of quality control, though
Honestly, Ae, I think you're a cool guy. You always give good criticism to just about everyone.
I don't want to go on a tangent here but why not provide the staff what exactly you are blaming them for? I mean, you do it for art and that way I (we?) can change what's wrong but if you don't say it, then it's hard to make the necessary adjustment. I mean, it's none of my business, I'm just saying.
The other half of the problem are those people unscrupulous enough to hip their games to death with no regard for the community as a whole.
I find that this happens quite a bit. I'd say, however, that most of the time people are not aware of how the front page works (I know I wasn't) so they don't mean anything by it.
Anyways, Kentona has made his decision and I don't think he'll change his mind any time soon. I actually agree with him on this one.
What are you thinking about right now?
"Blowin' In The Wind"
How many roads most a man walk down
Before you call him a man ?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand ?
How many times must Heartache 101 buzz
before it does my head in?
The answer my friend, is hiding in Marrend, the answer is hiding in Marrend.

Thanks Lockez for your input, most helpful certainly.
I was actually racking my brains to think of more things to put there. I thought about a trash can but wasn't sure if those belonged on a rooftop.
I'll take your suggestions, thanks!

Of course not, but wouldn't it be nice? It's all about accessibility. For example, do you check Orinomancie on a regular basis? I don't. I only get to know what awesome projects the people there are cooking when Creation post screens here every once in a while. Well, maybe we can't count with the French to host their games here, mostly due to the language barrier. But that part of me that is naive thinks that there's another barrier that we can overcome and that could potentially allow a bunch of cool games to be here, at hand's reach: Commercial projects.
I realize I'm giving the impression that Oniromancie is all custom but it couldn't be farther from the truth. We are drowning in a never ending stream of RTP projects. I just post the screenshots who show some originality.
So tell me, between games like Fire Kingdom and Vacant sky: Awakening, regardless of how we may feel about its ambitious Kickstarter project. Which one do you think is more inspiring and overall more beneficial to the community? ...That's the one you should let in, and you should put your foot down to leave the other one out, not the other way around.
Well, I think your methodology to raise money does play into it. If people start using a website to get money, it would look pretty bad if the whole financial deal didn't turn out. Anyways, do you really want to see legion of blogs advertising for their next donation compaign? Like... really? Blogs are meant to talk about the game. If they want to do advertisement to get cash, they can do it somewhere else.

Custom made.
I'd like some criticism as to what I could change to make it better. It's a murder scene and some detective investigating on top of a building.
Do you think the detective looks effiminate with his outfit? I tried to go for the detective look but it seems a bit too pink to me.
Characters are faceless which was inspired by Newblack's game. I thought that removing features from the face made the characters more creepy looking.

Hmm... Maybe this is related to a recently 20,000$ donation campaign for a game which got too many uncomfortable questions which lead to a certain project suddenly disappearing without any explanations from the author. How convenient.
