My name is Luke Wall, and I'm a game developer/composer/writer/artist out of Lexington in West TN (one of the worst places to be if you into gaming).
My current primary project is Dragonstar, a platformer RPG that is being aimed for iOS devices (primarily being developed in GM 8.1).

Ok, right off the bat:
Menu is neat and presentable. Good job.
Gameplay... needs a little work. The player hits new game and is basically shown a character, and a level, with mobs running around: with no idea whats going on. There wasn't any intro as to what the player is trying to achieve, so your basically just running wild.
And I would suggest you make combat (this is the only word I can think of to describe it), easier. If the player encounters a monster, these low level mobs can kill you with one hit without guard, and two with guard. Make the enemies slightly less difficult. Give your player a little bit of feel-time for the game before plunging them into 'hardcore'.
Other than that, looks fairly good. But you should fix those core things before you go any further.

Dragonstar
Gotcha. I should be getting character art by tmrw or saturday, and I'll post some in game screenshots with UI and original sprites. I will keep that in mind if I do post another project! :)

Heck, I'll give it a go. I might even do a vlog on it. I've been looking for a way to start up a YouTube channel. :P
Technically not my first post but, Here we go.
Hello everyone!
My name is Luke Wall and I'm a writer/composer/game designer/in-progress artist (mostly of an anime style). There isn't really much I'd like to say other than hope that I can be of use to this community! I'm currently working on my Core Project Dragonstar, but I'd be more than happy to do Logo Designs, Music (both orchestral and modern), and Game Design if you like (my core knowledge is in GameMaker 8.1).
Also, if anyone could refer me to a good place to find platformer/sidescroller sprites for placeholder purposes, that would be great!
Glad to be here! :)

Help please? Platformer RPG (need character sprites)
For Aubrey, I'd prefer unique right and left. I think the player will find it sloppy if they switch to him and then notice, "Wait, I thought his other arm was demonic?". It will look cleaner if there are seperate animations.
And Delric's Hair is pale blonde.
Awesome! Thanks so much for helping! :)
