Thanks for mailing it, but my point wasn’t really that I wanted to play for myself to see, it was more to address what I heard from other people and also suggest what you can do if you want to be a part of the community while still making adult games. I hope that’s not the only thing you took away from my response?

I took away that even though it may hurt to tone down my project to be able to share it on this site, I should consider that this type of situation occurs all of the time, and a good example would be the controversy caused by the international release of Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE, which had to be censored outside of Japan. I'm sure that those developers weren't happy about it either, but to release it with the rating that they wanted it to have, they had to make adjustments.

Maybe I shouldn’t comment without playing the game but having sex with someone while they’re unconscious is rape if you don’t get their consent beforehand, even if it’s someone you’ve been dating, which from what I infer they weren’t anyway. Heck, even with consent it is an iffy thing to do. It doesn’t matter if she actually wanted it, if the old man didn’t know that, he’s a massive creep, and I don’t think you can justify his actions.

That being said, try not to take it too hard. There is a place for everything, and RMN is unfortunately not the place for porn games. You can try itch.io for that. We’re happy to have new people in the community but we ask that you respect the site rules and that we have younger members who should not be exposed to certain things. I fully support sexual content (when everything is consensual and legal, mind you) but there’s a good reason why kids shouldn’t see it - because it encourages sexual behavior that will make them more susceptible to grooming and predators. I also fully encourage freedom of expression but kids are not old enough to fully understand the ramifications of certain things. They can also be influenced, and seeing a girl respond to a rape threat saying she actually wants it can be really harmful. There’s a reason age of consent is a thing. I’m saying all of this as someone who just recently turned into an adult.

Again, sorry that having your game rejected made you upset, but there was a reason. We have an adult only discord server (not officially related to rmn but mostly members from here) if you wish to join, and itch.io would be a much better place to host your games if they have adult content like I said. I hope we’re able to get past this and have you in our community!

I've gone back and played it again, and these two are still conflicting. Even if she has full control over her sexual exploits, there's still an emphasis on the sexual exploits, making the game itself rather pornographic. Giving the player the freedom to undress her also goes against the "not pornographic" mantra. It wasn't meant to be, but it is. I can kind of see where you're coming from with perhaps the human body not being in itself a problem, but you did have a guy who essentially said "I'm going to make the sexy times with your unconscious body." That's not cool.

I'm sorry we're prudent, but Frogge is right on the money. We want to keep things PG-13 here. We curse like sailors and go anywhere and everywhere with the violence in our games, so it seems like a double standard, but the whole 'sex and nudity' thing, we feel, tips the scale into R or even X rated. What I think would be a happy compromise is to make a special exception for you and give you an extra week to make a new game (the rest of us had our deadline) that fills the criteria so you can be eligible for the prizes, but that's up to the powers-that-be.

I just wanted someone to tell me that it was a good effort for a beginner, or they had fun playing it. I didn't enter for a prize but thank you for being nice to me, I was hurting inside, but I feel a little better now.

I get the impression that some may find it creepy for a young woman to have sex with an older man. I have two things to say in regards to that. Everyone is attracted to different things in a person. My husband is older than me, and it's not creepy. We're happy together. Rosé isn't human. She's from the planet Mercury in a story based on the faint young sun paradox. She's also ½ Succubus. Rosé is 136 years old.

We don't do sex games on this site. It's literally that simple. Games can have adult content as long as its not predatory and overtly sexualisation of the characters in question or deals with such situations in a mature, responsible manner.

No "hurr durr, naked chick flash tits lol" or "mah dick is need hard" or "ugly old man get cute little girl fetish prn". If it can be read as hentai, no thanks. Take it elsewhere.


Like, the idea of equipment changes changing battles is great and all, but the subject matter of making it respond to a young woman literally stripping in order to seduce monsters is very fetish. Nah thanks.

The project that my submission derives from deals with such situations in a mature, responsible manner, but that project has also been in development since August.

The nudity is intended to be comedic and fanservice, but I didn't have enough time to convey that properly. If you check my first post in this thread, you'll see that I was hesitant to participate. I did my best with my current level of skill, and I failed. I feel bad enough.

I didn't want to mention this here because it's embarrassing, but I'm a woman, 26, and I cried when my submission was rejected because I feel ostracized.

The word you choose to use, assault, is incorrect and makes the situation sound worse than it is. The Seigneur wasn't going to hurt Rosé. I left this up to player interpretation because that's my video game development style. The Seigneur was looking at her, and he fell through the floor, hence the comedy.

Did you check the status screen with armor equipped, and then again with armor not equipped? There's a description for both classes that provides the explanation you're looking for regarding why she threw herself at him.

As in this?Because after reporting this entry as problematic, I did some research and, yeah, it's hentai. Matter of fact, the main project makes no qualms about it: by English definition, she is assaulted.

My project isn't pornographic. She's not assaulted in the way that you're probably thinking . . . that is a PV, and it omits important story elements for shock value. The opening sequence occurs after Palazzo Reale di Hydrargyrum is invaded and Rosé is caught off guard. She is hit with an attack that reduces her attack power. She awakens in a dungeon that's intended to show the kind of physiological trauma a character may endure when attacked with this RPG cliché often referred to as power down.

The terms of service mentioned something about tasteless content. I'm going to take this opportunity to defend my project. I'm not challenging your opinion or your decision to reject it.

I have to admit, at first, I had painful flashbacks of being called predatory by a blue squirrel which still stings even though it was months ago . . .

La Princesse Rosé is inspired by Lala Satalin Deviluke of the manga series To Love Ru created by Saki Hasemi and Kentaro Yabuki. I aimed to give my project a similar feel to my favorite anime and manga series. My project isn't pornographic or tasteless, but like To Love Ru, it has nudity. The nudity is a part of the character and story development.

I'm not sure how much of my project you played, but if you still have it, I urge you to check out the status screen both with and without armor-equipped. You need to fully exit the menu when the armor is not equipped and then go back to the status screen to see the changes. Having no armor equipped also gives, Rosé an additional skill. The NPC has two different things to say, and Rosé will respond to the second thing slightly differently when she doesn't have any armor equipped. You can also jump into the sea and swim around, but I ran out of time to do what I wanted to do with it. Little touches like the SE of a sword being drawn playing or not before you battle the Spider depending on if you have Harold's Sword equipped and the sub-maps being of a size that could realistically fit on the map show the level of care that I put into it. On the subject of weapons, check out the description of Harold's Sword, and you'll notice that this project is add-on content.

I failed because I didn't account for how the player's perspective would differ from my own. I'm still developing the project that this project derived from, and I haven't shared it yet, so I can't expect the player to understand what's going on, and without knowing what I know, I guess it just looked like hentai.
