My point was that the people whining that the left is going to blow everything regarding Trump out of proportion is rich considering these are the same people that were happy enough to sit through 8 years of the same, if not worse, behavior towards Obama.

What the hell does 'Virtue signalling' even mean? It strikes me as rhetorical jujitsu. It turns standing for something into an act of self-aggrandizement.
It plays into this odd narrative that Democrats are all white people adopting pet minority causes to look cool? The Democrat party actually is multicultural. African-Americans, Latinos, Muslims, LGBTQ, etc. are the left. It's who the left is composed of. It's not something they need to adopt and pretend to care about. It's who they are.
