Best thing which happened in high school? Well, I'm a freshman, so...
1. I made legitimate friends for once. Until then I hung out with fellow dwebs. Now I go to the mall and the movie theater on Fridays.
2. I'm getting more confidence. I was able to talk to this cute girl out of nowhere. I think what surprised me most is how friendly she was to me. I barely knew her.

Whats the worst thing you ever saw in high school?
A rather hefty child I knew rather well reportedly rolled down the bleachers during a certain practice. Virturally no one cared... and surprisingly, not even him. He laughs about how people hate him so much. He's also the most racist child I know. O.o
In other news, a girl in my French class turned deathly pale and extremely weak, reports say he was foaming at the mouth, and we had to go to the library for the rest of class. She turned out OK, though. A sort-of friend of mine made fun of her for that, though. I felt rather bad about it.

Most likely your video card or its drivers can't handle rendering a resolution of 320x240, which is ridiculously small by today's standards.
EDIT: Barring that, did you fiddle with the monitor's screen controls to see if the image was just being rendered off-screen?
Also, my computer will also mute rm2k3 music occasionally, when I udes to use them. I also had to go into volume control and increase the Synth volume. Does this mean I have an old computer?
