Man that Pyramid bug doesn't wanna go away, eh?

Now that I look at it carefully, I seem kinda irrelevant when you consider the fact that the last person to complain about that bug was a few comments away.

^_^

LP: Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy Segment 3

You sure do miss a lot of things skipping the dialog like that. When you were fighting that ghost in the pyramid I was like: "Did he equip the whatever sword? did he? did he not? he defiantly didn't XD".

But damn you're funny, I give you that. I'm playing the game while half watching your videos, just for the heck of it. I laughed so hard when you got caught in the sands of doom. That's exactly what happened to me ^_^

I really enjoy myself.

Edit: Also, one great way to deal damage in the game is to use the Dragon band accessory as an item (like you do with the fire staff). it casts Dragon Force, which makes the bosses in the game (and some of the more annoying monsters) much easier to beat. You can actually get this item on a couple occasion, I think.

Edit 2: Also, don't count on Esuna for the wierrrrrrd flower cave. Esuna uses 10 MP and it sucks Elina's MP too quickly. Just buy at least 30 Antitodes and some anti berserk and anti mute items.

Final Fantasy Blackmoon Prophecy

Game breaking bug at the Pyramid:

can't move nor bring up the menu.
Really caught me off guard >_<

Tinyedit: Now that I look at it carefully, I seem kinda irrelevant when you consider the fact that the last person to complain about that bug was a few comments away. ^_^

Fun game so far, I'll post my thoughts once I finish.

Edit: Also, in the checkpoint monster killing game, you can actually kill all the monsters (!) before you talk to the captain (!) by riding a chocobo across the river and entering the checkpoint from the other side.
That makes it so that the guard at the entrance never leaves the front-gate, and you can never cross this checkpoint (without using the chocobo again, of course).

Edit 2: I thought it could be kinda fun to write what I think about the characters.
Please don't be offended if I get cynical. it's part of the fun :D
So... here goes:

Vahn: Your First and main character in the game. He is the cool main dude whose father a VIP and everyone likes him, except for those who hates him.
As main characters usually are, Vahn is the your best fighter and big hitter in the game, although, not for the right reasons, it seems. Since he is almost always in your party, he will gain levels more than most of your party, and that gap will just increase with time (unless you level grind). He has a large variety of skills, which are quite useless, to be frank.
Since Vahn has low MP and little magical ability (skills seem to rely on magical ability in the game), skills just do you no good, unless you stupidly gone into a boss\monster fight who is strong against fire skills (and there tons of those, for some reasons) and forgot to take off your super awesome fire spear (for some reason, skills do not inflict the same type of elemental damage as your weapon, despite the fact that you are impractically using the weapon to attack while performing the skill).
Thus, the lazy type will usually just Dragon Force vahn (using the skill or the Dragon Band item to gain attack++), and then spam the attack button, waiting for the fight to be over quickly.

Hans: He is your second character in game. He is the loyal companion with the gangsta talk.
Basically just a copy of vahn, with a different set of skills to begin with (vahn eventually learn all those skills as he progresses through levels.
He is actually quite strong and useful in the start of the game (has a bit more attacking power than vahn I think).

Oalston: He is your third character in game and your first mage. He is the black mage with the generic sprite and the non corrupted heart.
He starts off weak in the start, with only a fire spell, but he quickly grows stronger and gets tons of spells (including the non elemental poison spell, a weaker version of bio and a really great spell against bosses who are strong against most types of magic).
Oalston's main problem is that he runs out of MP too fast. He has a decent amount of MP, but his X-skills (that target all enemies) cost quite a lot, and ethers are rare in the first half of the game (you can't buy them in stores).
A smart game with Oalston is to carefully conserve his MP during dungeons (using his X-skills only in dire situations), and to patch him up well before boss battles (where he is quite useful, because many bosses are weak to a certain element).

Vicks: He is a temporary character you obtain for a limited amount of time. He is the soldier with little to no personality, who is only there because the author of the game had to take out Hans of the party for some story related reasons, and needed a filler replacement.
You can't control him. he has a regular attack, a stronger attack, and a quite useful skill which attacks all enemies (which he will use only when you don't really need it). He has some really, really good equipment, which sadly you can't get off him (for obvious reasons).
He could have been more useful then Hans (Vicks has a much better attack power). but since you can't control him he is no good.

Vera: She is your fourth character in game and a summoner (Stay away from the summoner!!! Sorry, FFX bug, fixed). She is the falsely (ahmstupidlyahm) accused general of the opposing army, and an obvious love interest for vahn (with the mandatory nighttime squishy scene which has great music).
She can summon spirits (which you obtain the usual way, through fighting), she can use status magic on enemies, and she is actually a pretty decent fighter. What's not to like?
Well, actually, she doesn't actually have that many spirits (she starts with one, gaining the second only 3-4 dungeons later), and those summons consume godly amount of MP ( 1-2 summons is her limit even after you level her up a it). She also doesn't really have that many status affect spells, and they aren't that useful anyway.
Despite all that, she is the character with the biggest potential in the game. At the start of the game you may use her as only a second fighter, but later on, as she gains MP and skills (and ethers become more common) she will be a much better and more versatile character.

Elina: She is your fifth character in game and your first healer. She is a young and shy white mage (in training?) who joins your party by the commend of the elder of mysidia.
Elina rocks! For a White mage, I mean. She has low attack, but if you give her a spear she can pack some damage. Not that I see why you will want to. She can use cure when you just get her, which is a huge reliever, since you don't need to rely on potions anymore. Also, later she gains some great skills, like haste, white (a lesser holy spell), Esuna (a remedy spell), and X-cure.
She may not be your primary fighter (not even close), but her buffs and heals are a necessity to a well balanced game.

Nobumasa: He is your fifth character in game and a ninja. He is the super awesome ninja dude who actually has a Japanese name and manners. He wants to fight strong enemies to get stronger and joins you for that sole reason = He is cool.
Nobumasa can use katanas, which grants him the super double strike, which for some reason is quite trash in the start of the game. He can also use elemental ninja techniques (including your first shadow elemental attack), which are OK, although his best special ability by far is the throw ability (which for some reason he has to use through the item menu in battle). he actually throws eggs at his enemies as his first throw-able item. How more awesome can you be?!
With an axe in hand (a much simpler but more efficient weapon choice for him), throwing cheap (only 50 gold, I think?) eggs at monsters, and using elemental techniques when necessary, Nobumasa can be a real handy for you while the story unfolds.

I'll continue this when I finish more of the game.

Hmm, I made it to the "Gate Keeper" battle (at the ice\crystal hell floor), I'm level 50+, all techs, yada yada.

Not 100% sure it is a bug, but the characters seem to go to sleep every turn in battle, instead of only at the start of the battle (as I think it should be, probably).
Not impossible to beat, but damn annoying, since I can barely land a hit.

Also, I will post my final impressions of the game after finishing, but right now it seems very pretty, but quite boring. I adore Loki, though ^_^

Edit: No, can't seem to beat it. Probably could if I over-grinded in tjhe pits, but I don't have the will for it now.
Edit 2: You should probably check again the zombie fellas from the start of the game too. I downloaded the last version of the game and they still have the problem with the strength zone attack (I hope I got the name right XD)/
The Gatekeeper's Sleep Aura causes characters above 50% HP to fall asleep at the end of each turn.

If something strange is going on, check the character's status in-battle and look at their states!
Thanks, I won.
Although it's still one nasty boss, the fact that you have to keep your hp low all the time and he is also immune to physical attacks, not to mention that annoying one hit poison spell (that kills everyone who is poisoned) and a killer shockwave.

I congratulate you. I rarely have any problems with bosses in games... not in the "normal" level at least.

Edit: I'm tired, swampy maze thingy- postponed!

Forever's End

OK finished, really had a nice time messing with this game. Some quick notes.

Story- Well, as someone who claims to be able to write a bit (in my native language), and as a hardcore snes era rpg fan, I can't ignore the fact this game has some serios writing flaws, and also the fact that it borrows many aspects from (extremely) famous rpgs. Some of the dialogues\monologues made me laugh, or worse- I "knew what's coming next". I haven't had this kind of reaction since Eragon. On the other hand, the had it's neat moments, and I especially liked the past sequences about the Lost and Alex.

Gamplay- You deffinetly got better with time. You could actually see the way you improved with creating dungeons, puzzles, bosses and such. As an explorer type rpg fan, I enjoyed finding all those cool secrets in game. Despite that, sometimes it just felt like you got overboard with adding content to the game, to the point that I couldn't keep track of all the things I done in game.
Also, sometimes I felt that bosses are way too weak compared to the rare monsters you fight beforehand.

Other notes- Audio and graphics were never the most importent thing for me, but I think they were good enough. I did recognize the rips, but that was ok in my point of view. The game wasn't as long as I imagened it to be, I saw better (even in the rpg maker comunity), and I think adding some sidequest to prevent the liniarity would benefiet the game. The game also wasn't too hard to finish. the only place I struggled in was in lionel's castle, which was one of the best parts in game.

Technical issues- Well, I already talked a lot about this part, so I want say much, just that despite all of those I still enjoyed the game, even when I had to retrace my steps some times.

Bottom line- Nice game, I'll really consider taking some of my time to write some kind of a guide to this game.

Ahm, just registered to report the game (version 1.04) still has that music+sound bug (for me) and already crashed twice during my replay of it (I'm in the royal hunting grounds).
"it crashed" isn't very useful without the actual error message. What exactly was the last thing you did and what message appeared?
I already gave detailed explenations+the error massage in all of my other posts, but I'll write it down again ^_^
Error is something like: "game could not be completed because of low memory resources". The bug seems to be triggered by having too much sound effects at the same time, usually during boss or just "hard battles", when you mash the buttons too fast. The first thing to happen is that the sound effects in battle become weird, and than disapear completely. When you finish the battle (if the game doesn't crash before I complete it), the music turns off, and if I try to leave the screen, the game crashes. If I die during battle I get the game over screen and the game crashes.

I'm not sure if it's a problem in my computer\the game\both, but I already tried playing the game without other programs (including firefox) open, so I have no other ideas.

Edit: Oh, and I don't remember having any big problems in my original playthrough of this game (the first demo).

Heh, well take yer time man, honestly aside from that bug this game is really good. ^^
That, and the crash bug. I just got pawned by it after almost killing that awfully powerful kenshin spirit in the desert (lol on the name ^_^).

On the same note, the crash bug defenitly has some connection to the sound+music bug. It seems to be triggered by having too much sound effects at the same time. I have the feeling that if you will realase a version of the game were you can turn off most\all of the sound effects, than the problem will be solved for most players :\

Just my gut feeling, worth a try untill you will find the proper solution to this particular bug.

Edit: Nope, I was just dellusioning myself XD
The best I could do was taking about 15,000 of his HP after throwing about everithing I had (including all rare monsters).
I mean, this guy has no weaknesses, his weakest attack can do about 600 damage, and he actually gets stronger as the fight goes on. A bit of a mismatch for my level 15 party ^_^
Great miniboss, with no doubt I'll come back to this desert after I get a bit stronger (and have epoch to my aid).

Edit2: Gave up on mister incredible.

Edit3: Oh, funny game ending bug at the underground town. If you aproach the gaurd at the entrance to the gaurdian's house from the side, elise will think she is a ghost, try to go through the wall, and get stuck (glad I saved at the inn) ^_^

Say, "999" is the best you can get regarding regular (attack, defence, etc) stats?
If so, for example, a Talon is a better weapon for epoch than the mor powerful Alastor for instance, cause his attack is maxed out and the Talon has better agility O0
Damn...people have been telling me that v.1.04 has a strange bug that maxes out Epoch's stats at some point. I don't understand why; it only started doing this after I added Cherry's new patches. Can you tell me at what point Epoch's stats changed to this?
Epoch-attack+defence-right after I finished the royal hunting grounds
Lee-defence+magic-right from the get go
Goldo-attack+defence-same as lee

Both Slade and Elise seem fine... lis too...

Edit: Oh, and the party is around evel 15 with (probebly) all the best armor\skills avilable.
