Master of the Wind Review

@Xanedil:

Right, I'm going to have to stop you there and pick you up on that point.

You said that if a reviewer makes a point, then it is imperitive to fix it. While this is true to some extent, it only applies if the reviewer's point is not flawed, or based on opinion rather than fact and reasoned deduction, which, as Volrath says, he doesn't think this is. Which leads me neatly to my next point.

I feel I know Volrath, not well, but enough having posted on the same boards he has posted on, and you've made a very sweeping statment towards his arrogance there. You must realise that he doesn't bash the game based on blind pride. He has made it extremely clear why he thinks this is a flawed review. He has defended his game with clear, reasoned points.

This is a gripe that annoys me, that a lot of people just don't seem to get. That people are allowed to defned their work, rather than just roll over and let people bullcrap them. If a person makes a point that you feel is ill-thought out, or simply, wrong, then it is perfectly resonable to dispute that. If they make a good point, then, as you say, you adress it and it goes forward to making a much better game.

Now, to FG. I think the least you can do here is rewrite this review, so that you can reclaim some creidibility that this review seems to have lost you. I'll admit, I haven't read your other reviews, but I'll take people's word for it that they are very good. You have already admitted that this review was rushed and flawed, rewriting it is surely the done thing to do.

I will defend you on many points, though. This difficulty curve at the beginning of this game is very high. Particularly the Mausoleum, and the Gallian Church gave me a lot of grief and frustration. However, that point seems to have been lost with this ensuing carnage. I presonally just put up with it, and really got to break the game in, but, as you say, you should start the game as you continue it.

So my advice to you is to rewrite the review, making your points clearer and more credible. As for the game, I'd say persevere. You may be thinking, why should you? The game definatley picks up after that. You won't regret it.
